Matters of the Heart

To vocalize the feelings the heart wants to say,
Does not come easy when the mind gets in the way.
Clouded taunts of what if's and this or that,
Holds all those feelings safely where they're at.
-
The heart waits while you think you've got it  contained,
But little did you know the heart can't be maintained.
When it sees what it most desires passing you by,
It bursts forth, claiming as the restraints untie.
-
The heart wants what the heart wants no matter what doubts cloud the mind,
Sometimes you have to push through the fog or risk being left behind.
Always listen intently to your heart for it does not lie,
It will bind you to the love that your mind tried to deny.
