At Riggs Rink tonight, the Colgate Raiders kick off Coach Vaughan's 27th season against a team they need some revenge on the RIT Tigers. Before the game started Colgate University honored longtime employee Ron Baker because he died from leukemia during the offseason. With 16:49 left in the first period Adam Brubacher scored his first goal of the season to make it 1-0 Tigers. With 11:51 left in the first period Shawn Cameron scored his first goal of the season on the power play to make it 2-0 RIT. With 9:54 left in the first period Josh McKechney scored his first goal of the season on the power play to make it 2-1 Tigers. Logan Drackett and Mitch Benson match zeros for the remainder of the period so RIT leads 2-1 heading to the second period. With 17:13 left in the second period Shawn Cameron scored his second goal of the game on the power play to make it 3-1 Tigers. Mitch Benson and Logan Drackett match zeros for the remainder of the period and RIT leads 3-1 heading to the third period. Logan Drackett outplays Colgate and RIT wins 3-1. Colgate falls to 0-1-0 on the young season.
