Gidget and Norman stared in horror at the gruesome wound on Tiberius's left flank. Located just under his wing, the flesh was torn in a savage manner. The skin surrounding the injury was red and inflamed. It was pretty obvious that the wound was infected badly. Prying her eyes away from it, Gidget cried, "You're coming home!"

"It's fine-" Tiberius murmured but Norman quickly interrupted him, "Please! You're hurt! We need to get you home!" In a desperate attempt to convince his friend, the guinea pig did one of the cutest puppy dog faces the world had ever seen. With his eyes opened as wide as they were and his paws clasped together, there was no way anyone could resist. However, Tiberius was able to as he spoke softly, "I can't."

"Even if you can't fly, we can still get you-" Gidget tried to say but Tiberius stated, "I can't leave. I have to stay here." Confused, the white Pomeranian exclaimed, "What do you mean you can't leave?!" The old hawk didn't reply. Instead, he was turning to walk away from them. Thinking quickly, she bounded over and stopped in his path. Looking him in the eye, Gidget spoke firmly, "You're coming home, whether you want to or not. Do you understand me?"

"But-" Tiberius opened his mouth to speak. Clamping his beak shut gently with her paws, Gidget continued, "No buts." She released her hold. Looking depressed, Tiberius sighed softly and glanced off into the distance. Frowning slightly, he murmured, "What the heck is that?"

"What?" Norman asked as he and Gidget followed Tiberius's gaze. When no reply came, Gidget looked back to realize that the old hawk had tricked them just so he could fly away. "Are you kidding me?" she muttered. Scratching his head, Norman mumbled, "How did we fall for that?"
