"Unbelievable Duke. Now is definitely not the time to be sneaking out," Max muttered. He was trying his best to comfort Gidget, who was disappointed with herself. Snowball, meanwhile, seemed to be mad as the white rabbit grumbled, "Fat Dog, we were having a serious meeting and you decide to take off without warning?! What the heck is going through your-" He was interrupted when Chloe started coughing.
All eyes settled on Chloe as she arched her back. She didn't seem to notice as she continued coughing. Worried for the gray tabby cat, Pops strolled up to her side and gently patted her on the back. After thirty heart pounding seconds, the coughing finally began to subside. Shaking a little, Chloe laid down, wrapping her tail around her paws.
"Hairball lodged somewhere in there Chloe?" Snowball asked.
"Shut up," Chloe grumbled, flicking her ear. Nuzzling her cheek, Pops murmured, "Rhonda, if there is something wrong, all you need to do is come to me or one of us. We're all here for you." Rolling her green eyes in irritation and huffing, Chloe got to her feet and left without a single word to anyone. No one said anything for what felt like centuries, which was really a minute and a half.
"Okay then, someone's got issues," Snowball muttered quietly. The rabbit got hit in the head by a flying tissue box sent by Max.
