"Chloe?!" Norman squeaked with worry in his voice, dashing over to the gray tabby cat's side. Chloe made no signs that she had heard the young guinea pig as she continued coughing up blood. Though they were little drops, she was hacking up quite a lot. "Sweetpea, go find Pops," Buddy murmured. The parakeet didn't need to be told twice as he flew off. Snowball, meanwhile, was trying to clear the area to give Chloe some space.

"It's going to be alright Chloe, Pops will be here any second now," Buddy whispered reassuringly to the cat. It didn't look like she heard him but it had been worth a shot. Running over, Mel asked, "Chloe, what's wrong?"

"We don't know," Buddy answered.

"Where's Sweetpea?"

"He went to go get Pops," Norman replied. At that moment, Sweetpea returned with Pops close behind him. The three animals breathed a sigh of relief.

"Everyone get out! Party's over!" Pops called out urgently. Howls of protest answered the elderly basset hound as he led Chloe away, letting the gray tabby cat lean on his shoulder. "I'll keep her here overnight. Just get everyone out of my apartment," he told Snowball as he passed the white rabbit.

Just then, the apartment was filled with fleeing animals as Myron started running the vacuum cleaner. "Thanks Myron!" Buddy called over his shoulder as he and his friends ran for their lives.
