Maya's POV

I got into the shower and changed into dry clothes after I was able to stop crying. My parents and Auggie had went to bed but I went down stairs where Riley was sitting on the couch.

"Hey what are you doing up?" I asked Riley.

"Just looking for houses," Riley said showing me her laptop.

"I'm sorry we have to move," I said sitting down.

"It's okay," she touched my shoulder.

"I'm sorry about everything and I know I should have listened to you about Lucas," I said.

"It's okay Maya we all do stupid stuff when we fall in love," Riley said.

"Not you," I said.

"Farkle tried asking me to dance and I didn't even know," she said.

"Yeah but you got to dance with him," I said.

"Yeah I did but don't worry Lucas will come around."

"I don't think he will this time."

"Hey you never know."

"I do know."

There was a knock and the door.

"Do you want me to get it?" Riley asked getting up.

"I've got it," I said getting up and walking to the door.

I pulled the door opened and was surprised nobody was there. I looked down the hall and didn't see anyone but when I looked down I saw a rose.

"What's that?" Riley said walking over to the door.

I picked up the rose which had a note on it, "A rose."

"What's the note say?" Riley asked.

I pulled the note off.

Dear Maya,

I'm sorry for what happened between us. You don't have to worry about my parents I erased there memory. I won't tell them about your family so you guys won't have to move away. I'm sorry things couldn't turn out differently for us.

I held the note close to me and I just stood there reading the note over and over again.
