Lucas POV

I was sitting on the counter of the yogurt place waiting for Maya to finish cleaning up something.

"Are you almost done?" I asked.

"Could you be any less patient?" she said.

"Yes," I said.

"Okay fine what else do you need to know about me?" she said sitting back down at the counter.

"Do you like football?" I asked.

Maya looked at me like I was stupid.

"I'm going to take that as a no," I said writing it down.

"Football is stupid," she said.

"Hey football is not stupid."

"Yes it is."

"Football and Baseball mean everything to me."

"What about your family?"

"My mom and dad could careless about my life all they care about it my grades and football."

"Oh."

"My dad doesn't go to any school events I have but football."

"What about baseball?"

"He hates baseball that's why I love it so much."

"Then why don't you quit."

"After my games he will sit down and talk to me about my game and it's the only time he spends with me I don't want to lose that."

"Oh."

"Should I write that down," Maya asked.

"No," I said taking her pencil away.

"Hey!" she yelled taking it back.

"Oh but my favorite color is blue, I love snow, I like to snowboard, I'm 6'2, and I like the number 34," I said.

"Okay," Maya said writing down everything.

"Are you going to the football game tomorrow?" I asked her.

"Probably not," Maya said.

"You should go it's the homecoming game," I said.

"And?" she said giving me that same look she gave me earlier.

"Your on the homecoming court," I said.

"I never asked to be on that," Maya said.

"What's so bad about being on the court?"

"I don't think being popular is something everyone should stress over."

"Your popular though."

"Not in the way that you or Shay are."

"If Shay doesn't win on Saturday she will have a cow."

"I don't want people to think I'm like that. I have a brain and I like to draw how I feel. Shay doesn't have a brain and likes to shop every time something doesn't go her away," Maya said.

"Not everyone sees you like her," I said.

"I don't want anyone to see me like her," Maya said.

"I don't," I said looking at her.

"We are getting off topic," Maya turned away, "So umm what's your favorite food?"

"Tacos," I said.

"Okay," she said looking down at her paper still.

"I have to go home," I said getting up.

"Already?" Maya said looking up.

"I have to watch my little sister," I said.

"How are we going to finish this essay then?"

"Just message me later tonight."

"Okay when?"

"Whenever."

"Okay so in five minutes."

"In five minutes you add on another hour to your timer," I said before walking out the door.
