Chapter 12: pt. 2, a duel with death

Mara POV, three days later.

What was death like? It certainly had to be better than what I was currently going through... right?
A foot collided with my gut and heaved although nothing came up. I was being starved and brutally beaten while others laughed from outside of my vision. Something snapped inside of me and I began to move on my own. Just as another kick was on its way I lunged with all of my strength and bit down on the soldiers armor. I knocked him down and but at an angle to get through the metal plates and sink me fangs deep into his flesh. I heard screaming coming from the soldier but while the others were fumbling with the lock to my cell, I was brutalizing this soldier. As far I cared he wasn't any better than the actual animals that existed, no, he was worse. I felt a hand grip the back of my neck and claws sprouted from my paws and I slashed. In the end I was covered in the blood of my enemies. I heard a man approaching in my ears picked up the sound of clanking armor. It had to be Mori. I used what little spirit energy that was left inside of me to morph into a cat. I ran out of the cell and thankfully I was faster than Mori. As my spirit energy hit rock bottom I cried out as I morphed back. I could see daylight, I was almost free. That's when I saw soldiers firing over a metal wall.

Guard one: SHOOT THE BLOODY MINOTAUR!

Guard 2: MY FUCKING BULLETS KEEP MISSING, ITS LIKE THEY'RE BOUNCING OFF!

Guard one: THEN DON'T AIM FOR HER TITS

Guard two: THEY'RE GOD DAMN MASSES OF FAT, THEY WONT STOP A BULLET AND FOR THE RECORD I'M AIMING FOR HER HEAD!

Guard one was about to speak when a battle axe was thrown and cut him straight down the middle. A Minotaur jumped over the wall and subdued the other guard and I saw someone on her back. It was Y/N!

Mara: Y/N!

He wasn't happy, he was frightened, very frightened. When he opened his mouth to shout something I felt as the dead center of my chest exploded in pain. I stumbled backwards in a daze. I couldn't breathe, I was in agonizing pain, and I became aware of a thick ooze that trickled down my front. Something grabbed me from behind and held a dagger to my throat.

Y/N: YOU SICK BASTARD!

Mori: the plan in the end was to have you dead, yes you were supposed to see everyone die but at the same time, it would be dumb to let you live.
Eve POV, Three hours ago.

Y/N was looking distraught, more than usual. He was breathing heavily and looked anxious. For the first time I released him from my grip and sat up. He looked up with slight surprise in his eyes.

Y/N: w-what are you doing?

Eve: listen, I don't know what it is about you, I don't know what's different but something is. It's causing me to feel for things other than myself for once... and I noticed that you're... anxious... distraught... is something wrong?

Y/N: it's been days... I'm worried about Mara... I just want to bring her to Sarah... she'll protect her... then you can drag me off and rape me for the rest of my life... I really don't care anymore.

Eve: this girl really means that much to you... and you speak of another girl too. I'll help you... and maybe I'll see who that other girl is... maybe she's into threesomes~

Y/N: Sarah is a Cheshire Cat turned slime so I think that would be a huge yes.

Eve: I cant wait, just give me a second.

I stood up and picked up my axe. I then returned and picked up Y/N with one arm. We'll get her back.
