"What? Do you know how late it is?" I Said.

He chuckled on the other end. "It's only eight."

"Exactly!"

"Your dad won't let you out? Come on! It'll be fun."

"Of course he won't, Ethan. You know how he is..."

"Uh, no. I don't, but I'll take your word for it. Sneak out."

"Your ideas keep getting worse by the second."

"Please? For me?"

"You want me to risk my life for you?"

"...yeah..."

I sighed. "You just don't give up, do you."

"Nope. Never."

I threw on my favorite black Fall Out Boy hoodie and silently opened my window. There was a chilly breeze that easily met my exposed legs. I instantly regretted the shorts.

The sky was clear and starry as I jogged down the familiar path towards McDonald's; the only place we could think of at the moment.

I walked through the door and found myself staring blankly at the menu. I wasn't hungry, but that's what happens when you walk into a fast food place, right? Maybe it's just me...

I felt someone wrap their arms lazily around my waist and turned to meet the gleaming eyes of Ethan.

"Hey, babe." I Said, smiling.

He smirked. "I'm diggin' the shorts."

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever."

I followed him to a booth in a far isolated corner. He wore blue jeans and a maroon sweatshirt. This was the brightest thing I'd ever seen him wear.

"So what do you want?" I asked.

"Um...now that I think about it..."

I did a double take.

"You dragged me out here, out of my bed, to make awkward silence? At eight thirty?"

He chuckled nervously. "Well, we could make it fun."

I crossed my arms angrily. "I highly doubt it."

He smirked. "We'll see about that."
