Chapter Twenty Eight

I stood at the door. The dark colored metal steel door that I used to just casually open.

I was about to simply open it but remembered that things weren't like before, so instead I knocked. I heard footsteps aproach the door, and then met myself with someone I haven't seen in a few weeks.

"Skylar?" Derek asked suprised.

I was too late at stopping myself as I sarcastically answered, "No it's Santa Claus."

Out of all the things he could've done, Derek smiled. My heart sank realising I missed him more than I'd ever admit. I would never admit anything to anyone about how much I loved Derek's smile. Specially when I was the cause of it. I just stood there staring up into his eyes and I mumbled, "Damn I'm short."

I began blushing once I realised that he definately heard me. He realised I was nervous so decided to break the "ice" as the expression goes. Although I don't understand where the ice is and why it is meant to be 'broken'.

"Come in." Derek spoke, his voice hiding all emotion, as he stepped away from the door.

"Right." I stepped inside feeling really uncomfortable.

"So what brought you here," he asked sitting down.

I just walked awkwardly to sit next to him. I realised we were sitting a bit close to each other so I backed up and almost fell off, untill Derek caught my arm.

Once I stood upright he slid his hand down my arm and held onto my hand.

I ubruptly stood up, "Uh maybe this was a bad idea, sorry to bother you Derek. I should just leave." I turned around walking towads the door.

"Sky." Derek spoke softly, making me stop dead in my tracks.

I stood there paralyzed not daring to move. Maybe if I stand still he won't see me.

"Skylar, remember you can always trust me?"

"Sorry Derek. I just haven't seen you in so long and Stiles made me come. I could have just not came, but I really wanted to even though... I don't know.

I just feel like it's been so long and I just don't know if you even wanted to see me.

I just- I missed you."

I turned around and Derek was standing right in front of me, "I missed you, too."

I didn't really expect him to say something like this, so when he did I acted on instict. I quickly put my arms around his neck and hugged him. As I felt his strong arms around my waist I felt relieved. I took in his scent, how do guys always smell so nice?

I pulled back placing my hands on his shoulders. "Derek, I'm messed up." I sighed realising how stupid that sounded

"What makes you say that?"

"It's my fault why Allison and Aiden are dead. And I- dont know what to do."

"Sky, I know how you feel but you couldn't have stopped it."

I sighed looking down, while sliding my hands down from his shoulders to the beggining of his forearm. "I had these visions, like death predemptions but I didn't think they were real. What's wrong with me? I still think I'm going crazy."

Derek looked at me confused, "So you're phsychic?" He suggested.

"I don't know." I mumbled.

His eyes stared into mine as if they were searching for something, some sign of emotion. "Skylar it's not your fault. We could have done many things different, but in the end death might just be inevitable."

"Does this mean I'm phsychic?"

"I don't know. Slylar I didn't notice this before, but your eyes have been getting closer to maroon."

"Is this something I should be worried about?"

"I don't know."

I always felt as if 'I don't know' was just an answer made for me. No one actually knew what was going on with me. I needed to find out before something bad happened.
