he wouldn't stop chasing me, so I
didn't stop running. it became cardiac
more than anything else, pump-and-sweat,
his breath always louder than min
in my ears. he was incredibly beautiful
so (naturally) I was incredibly afraid.
let me tell you a secret. the only way
to make a man lose interest in you
is to become something that won't scream
when he sets it on fire.
