The difference between satires and parodies befuddle me. This could be a mix but like, I'm only a highschool student what do I know. Not much apparently, I mean I only received a B- on my last writing piece. What do I have to do to convince the teachers my writing deserves a higher grade? They want me to write the same way as everyone else? Seems like it's a path to being a zombie writer. Just like everyone else, same format, tone, language, voice.... ugh. People are meant to be unique, so why can't our writing be unique? Hmm what does this remind me of... rights maybe? Or in some places the lack of. Rights are wonderful things, spoken and argued about nearly worldwide... Nearly. In some places you don't have the right to speak your opinion or feelings. Goodness, it gives me a headache. What makes a select group of people worth less than another group of people? Their ability to work? Their skin colour? Their sexual orientation? Their religion? Why can't everyone just accept that people are different in so many ways.... like styles of writing.... even to the point where it can be difficult to find people.... or their work... with similarities. Adding onto that, we don't have to like what other people do, write, say, or feel, just keep it to your-fucking-self. Maybe a bystander mentioned his opinion on a current political issue? Someone wrote a column you don't agree with? Someone's gay and you don't like it? For crying-out-loud go scream into a damn pillow...

School systems make no sense to me. Maybe it's because the system focuses on rewarding specific students that are only good at regurgitating unoriginal and/or useless information. I want to be a writer, so why should I need to know the quadratic formula to pass middle school? Or why should the english classes focus more on the history of some famous poet from centuries ago then focus on what the students want to do with their future?

My thought process is supposed to stay on one topic for this kind of writing. I'm not the greatest at that, probably because I'm not passionate about marked writing with rubrics and all that. So instead I'm relating everyday problems in societies around the world to show just how constricting assignments and rubrics can be to a students' creativity and thought process. Why can't I just question everything? Who decided there should be rules to writing? Why are those rules so specific to different types of writing? Why are there different types other than fiction, and non-fiction? Okay maybe I'm going a little too far against the wonders and possibilities of condoned, controlled, and graded writing.... Then again maybe not, who are you (or anyone) to say my views and opinions are aggressive or malicious? You didn't read this against your will, so if you have a problem with it take it up with a counsellor. Better yet actually, just yell into a pillow.

Writing has changed so much in so little amount of time. Grammar, formality, language, format and so much more. I write how I write, grade it how you like and I'll continue to write the way I do.

Now if you'll excuse me, I don't agree with the way I was forced to write for this assignment. So I'm off to scream into a pillow.
