School Newspaper...

So I guess I'm writing for the school newspaper now. Why? Wasn't exactly my choice but... that's besides the point. I'm not gonna go on a rant every time I get a chance to write on this thingy... but I would like to point out that the school system has a couple problems that could be solved with the right people backing the idea up. Anyway, the idea is that right now, school systems around the world are rewarding students who are only good with memory, or regurgitating useless and/or unoriginal information. Here at W.O. we have many options and are very lucky to have opportunities such as usage of the greenhouse, wood-shop classes, automotive classes and even various media arts and advanced technology classes. (Let's not forget we still don't have all the asbestus cleared up in our school, or the air conditioning working)

I wanna be honest when I'm writing for this newspaper thingy... mainly because probably only a couple geeks, nerds, outsiders and teachers are going to read this.
Besides all that let's talk about social issues...
...Bullying...Racism...Sexism...Harassment... and even Mental Disorders.
Frankly no popular people in this school are going to care about what I have to say or any points I make. So until they mature to the point where they realize the world doesn't revolve around them... I guess I'm just writing to those people in the world who are already at the point. Now, I'm not saying every Jock or Barbie-like-girl in this school isn't mature. And I'm not saying every single person reading this is an outsider or something. Unfortunately however this is the case the majority of the time. Here's an unpopular opinion coming from a victim of bullying and mental disorders....
Bullying doesn't need to be taken out of school completely. Bullying teaches you to handle uncomfortable or difficult situations. Unfortunately however bullying can also continue over time and ruin a persons self esteem or damage their mental health. There are cons to bullying obviously, but there are also pros. In the end all I'll say is bullying will always be around, and that's how it'll be. But once it starts to damage a person or group of people it needs to end there.
Hmmm what else can I write about... I'm horrible at connecting one paragraph to another. I guess we'll go with what the hell is racism about? Like can someone please explain to me what makes a specific race worth less than another race? It angers me so much, and I'm not even a victim. Sexism.... well I know this can be a sensitive topic for a lot of women. I guess I'll have to keep it as a broad topic.... ummmmm..... Women should not be paid less, whether you believe it happens or not. And women should be treated as men are treated. Another unpopular opinion, women can't do everything that men can do. Hear me out, because there are things men can't do that women excel at. It's scientifically proven that women are more inclined to mature faster and have better memory at younger ages. This has everything to do with the difference in the two sexes' brain function. And the idea of men being stronger? That's also scientifically proven to be true because of the higher levels of testosterone. I'm not saying women can't be muscular because they sure can, and I have no problem with that. On another hand, when I say women should be equal to men, that's an opinion of a feminist. I'm not saying women should be of an even higher power. At that point that's not feminism. Okay, time for a new topic my head hurts.
Harassment of any kind; sexual, verbal, online, physical, emotional..... is just unacceptable. Period. Mental disorders and physical disorders are natural in human life, so if you actively judge people on their stutter, appetite, way they walk.... or anything else.... we have a problem. Now that this is all sorted I suppose I could talk about the LGBTQ communities.
They're just as much of a person at the rest of us. Things I don't agree with are when people claim there are millions of genders.... seventy-two? I can understand that. Or when people claim they identify as objects.... I simply do not understand. I think I may have wrote a little too much this time.... so this will probably be split between articles. Either way I'd like to say that everyone has opinions. Everyone has different sides on things. It's up to you whether you share it with the world. But I can tell you right now... if it's offensive to anyone I'd keep it to yourself. It won't end well.
