I sit here...
alone...
Atop the highest of mountains
Surrounded in the tallest trees,
And the heaviest of boulders.
Not quite sure with what was going on...
I figured I was the king.
After all look at this
wonderful world
I have the privilege of admiring from such...
Such a wonderful viewpoint.
I guess you could say I was high on life.
I was energetic, trustworthy, faithful, fun-loving, and excited for what else life has yet to offer.
Alas...
The mountain was my room,
The trees were my walls,
The boulders were the lock on my door
And the wonderful view I had?
That was the window I used to look out of and watch the other kids play, with tears in my eyes.
But....
Here in this lonely room,
I can be king.
After all I'm the only one here.
I can be whoever, or do whatever I wanted to.
Nothing was too crazy or impossible for my imagination.
The world could still be a happy place
Even when you're alone.
...
When I step out of my kingdom;
Ready to face the challenges of life and adulthood
All there is for me to realize is that it's not as easy as I thought it'd be.
Because once I stepped out of that kingdom I felt more alone than I was in that room for hours on end....
Now I'm the joker.
And your living, continuous joke.
