James P.O.V

"C'mon Moony" I whined, tugging at his robes, "Pleeaaasssee?" He sighed. "No James." "But why not?!" Remus snorted loudly. "I don't think you parents would appreciate a gay werewolf staying at your house." I rolled my eyes. "But they don't even know yet Moony!!" I pouted, putting on my best puppy face. Remus pinched the bridge of his nose. "Fine" he muttered, continuing his packing. I punched the air. "Oi Padfoot! Wormy!" I yelled. "Remus agreed!" there was muffled cheering from the other side of the door. "Lets go to the end of year feast!" yelled Sirius, dragging Remus by the arm and practically flying into the great hall. I grinned as Dumbledore waved his hands and the feast began, the tables filling up with food beyond compare. Custard tarts laden with fruit, Huge roasts, chocolate sculptures, the list could go on. I noticed that Remus wasn't eating anything and was looking decidedly pale. "You good there Rems?" I asked, noticing that his breathing had gotten shallower. "Silver" he croaked, gesturing at the silver tureens, plates, and cutlery. I froze. Oh no. I prodded Sirius and gestured to Remus and a silver spoon. His eyes widened and he promptly got up and ran over to Dumbledore. "Mr. Black-" began McGonagall. Sirius ignored her and began whispering frantically to Dumbledore. The headmasters' face clouded with worry and he clapped his hands. There was a gasp from around the hall. All the plates had turned house colours, the Ravenclaws had alternating bronze and blue plates, the Hufflepuffs had dandelion yellow and black plates, the Slytherins had green and silver plates, and the Gryffindors had red and gold plates. Dumbledore winked at Remus, who was looking a whole lot better now, and loading his plate with food. "I don't know what I did to deserve you guys" I heard him murmur as he ate. I smiled, knowing that he had the best friends the in the world.

Time Skip: 3 weeks into Summer, at the potter's house

Sirius P.O.V

Peter was out with James' mum that day, so James and I were lounging on the sofa downstairs when suddenly, Remus walked up to us, very stiffly and said in an overly calm voice, "James, Sirius, would you come with me for a moment please?" he turned on his heel and strode up to his room. I looked at James, who shrugged nervously. Following Remus into his room, he shut the door behind him and after casting a muffalto, he took a deep breath and folded his hands in front of him. "Do you know what day it is?" he asked quietly. James and I shrugged. "June 29" he said in the same tense voice. James shrugged again. "And?" Remus sighed angrily, losing control of his emotions. "JUNE 29TH POTTER!! JUNE 29TH ITS A FUCKING FULL MOON TONIGHT, YOU DO NOT HAVE A WEREWOLF PROOF CELLAR, THERE IS NO SHREIKING SHACK AND YOUR PARENTS ARE HOME !!" he raged, his eyes flashing gold. "WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?! THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THAT I AM GOING TO BE ABLE TO EXPLAIN WHY I SUDDENLY HAVE TO LEAVE!!" he sat down on his bed, gripping his hair. I could tell he was obviously trying to keep his temper under control. James just kind of gaped at him. I could tell James was annoyed, but he knew that Remus was a lot more sensitive around full moons so he kept his mouth shut. I went over to the bed and sat next to him. He flinched away, whining. James looked at me, confused. Carefully moving away from Remus and went over to James and whispered in his ear. "Remus doesn't like to let you see him like this, but the wolf affects his mind very strongly before a full moon" I explained. He frowned. "Why haven't we seen him like this before then?" he asked. I set my mouth into a grim line. "That rain stunt we pulled a while back hurt him more than he's willing to tell us James. The more he gets hurt, the closer the wolf draws to the surface" I saw his eyes cloud over with guilt. "D-don't worry James" sniffled Remus from the bed. "I don't blame you" James coughed awkwardly. "This may sound a little indelicate, but um, how have you managed to stay sane for this long?" he asked. I smacked my forehead and groaned. You really had to hand it to James for being an oblivious git. Remus' mouth twitched and he laughed hollowly. "Believe me, I've asked myself that more times than you can count"

Euphemia P.O.V (3rd person)

As Euphemia called the boys down for dinner, she noticed that they were all very stiff looking, especially Remus, Remus looked quite pale and poked his food around the plate. "Remus honey, are you alright?" she asked. Remus coughed and gave his best shot at a reassuring smile. "I'm fine Mrs. Potter, really" he said, going back to his food. "Well alright" She said. A few hours later, As Euphima was sitting by the window reading, a howl spilt the night air. Fleamont was by her side in a second. Peering out of the window, she saw a wolf running around in the woods, flanked by a stag, a dog, and a
Rat. "Do we need to call the Ministry?" Asked Fleamont, gripping his wife's shoulder. She shook her head, "let's wait for now, those three animals look like they have it under control." As dawn arrived, the wolf returned to the backyard. The potters gripped their wands. The wolf let out a howl full of pain and it seemed to collapse in on itself and suddenly Remus was lying on the grass, bleeding. Euphimea gasped. "The Lupin boy?" She breathed. Her surprise increased when the other three animals morphed into James, Sirius, and Peter. "Our son and his friends are animagi?!" Questioned Monty. She didn't have time to respond as the door slammed open and James and Sirius carried an half conscious Remus inside, and laid him on a cloth covered couch. James ran into the kitchen and grabbing some towels, he set to work stemming the flow of blood. Sirius tan upstairs and came back down with a leather back, and immediately began administering potions to Remus, who was slowly gaining consciousness. "Ah dammit James, we're going to need to brew some more blood replenishing potion, that was quite a bad moon." James nodded grimly. "Mum! Can you get the cauldron out?" He asked. When she didn't move, he stepped up to her. "Mum?! Hello?!" He snapped  his fingers, painfully aware that Remus was about 1 1/2 pints of blood lighter than he should be. Euphima unfroze. "Why are you helping him?" She hissed under her breath. James' eyes widened with hurt and shock. "Because he's my friend" he relied, a touch coldly. "But he's a werewolf. All werewolves are monsters" Remus coughed up blood and James glared at his mum. "Wow. I really hoped you wouldn't be like this. I thought you learned to look past wizarding prejudices mother." He said, his voice ice cold, dripping with disappointment. It was this that seemed to shock some sense into her. Before she could do anything though, Remus put a hand over his bandages, that were already staring to bleed through. "I-it's allright" He stammered, standing up. "I'll g-go. I-I'm used to it" He said, looking a hundred years older as he limped towards the door. Euphimia nearly went blind with pity and regret. "Remus.." she started. "Save it" James spat, "you've done enough." Sirius helped Remus back onto the couch and James brushed past his mother to get the cauldron. "Don't talk like that to your mother" said Fleamont crossly. "She has a point you know" Sirius and Peter inhaled sharply as James shoulders shook and storm clouds gathered in his eyes. He turned around slowly. "Look me in the eyes father, Look at Remus, who is still losing blood, then look me in the eyes, and tell me that my best friend is a monster. I. Fucking. Dare. You" He growled. Fleamont's gaze flickered over to the bleeding boy on the couch, who flinched when he did. Euphimia grabbed the cauldron and passed it to her son. "I'm sorry sweetheart, it's just a shock, that's all" she finished lamely. James shook his head. "For now, I'm not your sweet anything. We'll talk about this after I'm sure that Remus will live." He spun on his heel and stomped out of the kitchen. Mr. Potter put an arm around his wife. "D'you think we were wrong?" He murmured. Mrs. Peter looked guilty and unsure. "I don't know, he's never hurt James, but he's a werewolf..." just then Sirius walked in with his wand. "Riddiklus" He said. The Potter's stared at him. "I beg your pardon?" Asked Fleamont. Sirius shook his head sadly. "I was hoping you would be a boggart. I guess I was wrong then" he trudged out, an expression of pure sorrow on his face. Euphimia broke down into her husbands shoulder. "Oh god.. oh god Monty, what have we done? Remus was always the quiet, kind one. What's happened to us? We looked past prejudices when we accepted Sirius into our house? Why not Remus?" She sobbed. Mr. Potter nodded. "We need to go apologize. Now." He said. Puffy eyed, the pair walked into the living room, where it looked like Remus was just clinging to consciousness. James scowled as they entered, the action going strait to his mother's heart. "We're so so so sorry Remus. I don't know what came over me" she mumbled, bowing her head. Remus nodded wearily, "I'm used to it m'am, it's happened before" Fleamont frowned. "You shouldn't be used to it" He said. Remus smiled grimly. "Perhaps not Mr.Potter, but it is what it is"
