Her eyes roamed the colourful canvas intensely, taking in all its details. "It's just beautiful..."
The male next to her smirked before repeating her in a low voice. She gave him a mildly distasteful look, which he chuckled at.
"I can show you the most beautiful painting made by my brother, if you'd like to see." He asked in a suggestive tone, making the girl skeptical and cautious.
Nevertheless, she followed him. Jin, the male she was with, got attention from many of the young females from the event.
It was a large house party, Jin's family being quite big socialites in the area. Y/N's father was a well-known professor, the best, which is why her family was invited as well, other than the fact that their parents were good friends.
Oh, and that Y/N's older sister was getting married to Jin's older brother. Let's say that the two younger siblings were finding it difficult to get along, hence Jin's attempt to get warmer with the young lady.
As they got nearer to the pool where the painting was kept (an odd place really, this family was peculiar but prestigious nonetheless), Y/N made an offer: "chocolates?" Jin couldn't refuse, receiving them with a thank you!, his taste buds liking anything thrown at them.
He guided her encouragingly, standing beside the painting and lifting a translucent film over. It was in vintage style, a watercolour painting of handsome himself, with classy clothes, fierce eyes and... a guitar.
He open the chocolate wrapper smugly, eyes wavering between the portrait of him and Y/N. "What do you think?"
She edged closer, balancing a barely visible smirk on her face. "Do you actually know how to play? Or are you just posing?" She questioned teasingly.
"People tell me I play very well, I could play for you sometime if you want." He returned calmly, Y/N just took a bite out of her chocolate bar before realising-
"Oh! Almost forgot- here, my sister wanted me to give you this." She brought out an small bejewelled case from her dress pocket and handed it to him.
Since her sister couldn't make it here (the bride's family were meant to visit the groom baring gifts, without the bride herself in this tradition), Y/N passed along the present. "Oh, for me? Thanks."
"I told her it wasn't necessary, but I guess she wanted to be a good sister-in-law." Jin looked a little hurt but didn't show it, sensing a playfulness in Y/N's attitude; after all, it's the groom meant to be getting gifts, not the groom's younger brother. "Open it." She urged, eyeing the dark brunette.
He opened the case, revealing a sparkling accessory inside. "Wow, a brooch! Tell her I said thanks."
Y/N nodded before adding, "Put it on your vest, your girlfriends will be impressed." She said before walking near a poolside table where a few magazines were.
Jin took her mocking advice with an arrogant smile on his face, starting to place the brooch on him before hesitating and getting an idea of his own. "Y/N-ssi!" He said, quickly following her.
He sat on the chair beside her, seeming innocent in his approach, "Could you help me put it on please?" Y/N saw nothing to it, moving close, towering elegantly over him,
She gestured for him to get off the chair, Move aside she said, to which he raised an eyebrow at, she repeated the action again, to which he confusingly followed. Y/N sat on the seat instead, gently pulling Jin closer and taking the brooch out of his hand, as well as placing her half-bitten chocolate bar in her mouth.
She skilfully began putting the brooch on his sophisticated vest, handling the pin well. He looked into the distance, almost bored before letting out a yelp.
She flinched and took the chocolate in her hand, saying, "Sorry! Did that prick?" Jin smiled, shaking his head.
"Then, why?" Jin chuckled before replying, "That would've been my reaction if it did prick."
"Very smart." She deadpanned, making Jin laugh victoriously.
He took a bite out of his chocolate, Y/N becoming devious. He let out another yelp, this time it was fairly louder.
"What happened Jin-ssi?" She feigned innocence. "The pin, it actually pricked." He said, lips settling into a pout.
"Ahhh, well," She fiddled the brooch, securing it on him, "It feels like this when it does prick." Jin stared at her, trying to conceal his dumbfounding shock before someone called them from the pool.
"Well, I suppose it's time to strengthen our relationship Y/N-ssi." He said, referring to the event about to happen between the two soon-to-be relatives.
"Very smart." She repeated, standing up and walking ahead of him.
Jin smirked, she was an interesting girl indeed. It wouldn't hurt to get under her nerves, under her skin.
Underneath the defences they both had.
