Are we friends?
During class even though I was paying attention I would sometimes let my attention drift and look around. When I did all throughout class I would see Hunter sitting in his seat looking out the window as though he was trying to figure something out. The twins were talking as always or cracking jokes with me which would make me smile but would make Hunter frown cause the jokes are usually about him.
But I could tell it wasn't those type of frowns that tells you they either didn't get the joke or didn't like it. It was a different frown that even I couldn't put my finger on.
While I was writing in class I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turn to see who it was an it's was Hunter with still no smile that adores his face not even a smirk. "Yeah," I say since Miss Crabtree had stepped out the class to print some papers.
"Did you want to go to the mall today with us? You can bring Iris and Owen if you like Luke is coming to." Hunter says with- if I dare to say it- hope in his eyes.
"Yeah sure me and the kids needed some new outfits and stuff," I say and for the first time since we walked in their class room door Hunter wore a small grin.
"Hey Hope," I hear someone call from behind me. I turn an see Shan. I kinda forgot a little bit about him so I haven't been checking up on him and the others during training sessions.
"Oh hey Shan, how are you," I say since I'm still in my very much good mood. I don't think Shan expected that he probably expected more of a shy reply but I just went out and said it.
"I'm fine thanks but do you think we can talk after class about something important," he had a pleading look in his eyes.
"Yeah sure," I smile and turn back in my seat.
"What was that all about?" Hunter asks from beside me.
"Nothing he just wants to talk," I reply looking him straight in his dark blue eyes.
"I got that but why would he needs to talk to you," he says.
"I don't know, but is there something wrong with him wanting to talk to me?" I ask raising my eyebrow in wonder of why he wants to know so badly.
"No it's just- never mind," he says with small sigh an he sits back in his seat crossing his arms then proceeds the avoid eye contact with me by look at his shoes as if they will answer all his unanswered questions. So I turn back in my seat to finish my writing.

After class I took my time packing my bag and waited for Shan who waited for his friends to leave. Once the class room was empty. It was me and Shan along with the teacher who was busy grading papers to notice we still haven't left yet. I have free period so I was in no rush.
"Hey you have free period right?" I nod confused on how he knew that.
"I don't but it's okay it I skip this one or go late so follow me, I don't want to be in here any longer then I need to be," he says then walks us out of the classroom and outside to the football field. We didn't see anybody out there but it felt like I had eyes watching me but then they would go away then come back so I thought it was just the wind or something.
"Okay so I have something important about the Mark I need to tell you," he says.
"What about it," I cross my arms and scrunch my face in confusion.
"It's just I wanted to check up on you after you know I told you about Mark cheating on you and you were gone all last week so I didn't know if you were hurting really bad or something," he says nervously.
