Luke at the top👆👆👆
Considered Missing
The kids jump out of the car excited to get their playdate started. I'm just now getting out the car and making my way to my front door to let the overly excited kids in the house.
Opening the door the kids run into the kitchen with Luke running in right behind them the kids ran into the kitchen can only mean one thing. They want....FOOD!
Walking into the kitchen I look over at the dining table and see them all ready to eat whatever I serve them, while they talk amongst themselves. I go to the fridge and grab some fruit cups for them until I can finish dinner.
I hand them their cups. "You three can go down to the game room until dinner's ready. Okay?"
"Ok mom, Luke follow me," Owen says while grabbing Luke's hand and dragging him behind him.
"Wait for me! Ugh boys," Iris says jumping down from her seat and follow behind the boys.
I'm about to turn the oven on when my phone rings. Looking and the caller ID before answering.
"Hello?" I say as I answer the phone.
"Hey Hope," It's Ryan.
"Hey.. um.. how did you get my number?" I ask I'm pretty sure I never gave it to him, he gave me his not another way around.
"I have my ways," he says mischievously.
"Okay then Mr. Ways, why are you calling," I ask.
"Just checking in on Luke and if your cooking for him or getting take out and just know that Luke is deathly allergic to seafood," he says.
"Oh thank you for telling me then," I say as I walk back over to the stove and start to put the heat on.
"Yeah... Oh, wait no there something else...the guys and I were are thinking about going to the beach Saturday... did you want to come with us?" Ryan asks with hope lacing his tone.
"Yeah sure, um I was going to get someone to watch the kids anyways," I say, surprised he invited nerd me to join them.
"Great we'll pick you up tomorrow, bye Hope."
"Bye," I say then hang up the phone.
Well, that's surprising, but anyway I should start making dinner.
I'm halfway done making tacos with nachos when Mark walks into the house.
"Hope where are you," Mark calls out to me.
"In the kitchen," I say then start making plates for the kids.
"We have a problem with that Xavier kid, his parents have contacted the police about his disappearance," Mark says in a serious tone, well his tones are all ways serious.
"Should I make a pie, and if so what kind?" I say looking around the table after I've finished placing the kids and I plates down.
"Hope this is serious," he says while glaring at me.
"I know, it's always so hard to think of a good pie that everyone will eat and-..." Didn't get to finish what I was saying because Mr. Grinch wanted to interrupt me.
"HOPE PAY ATTENTION DAMNIT," He says hitting his hands against the kitchen island.
I don't even flinch at his aggressive behavior change. I just turn around so my back's facing him and pull be knife out of my pocket and turn around while throwing the knife right near him barely missing his eye, while the knife lands in the wall behind him. When he realized what just happened he glares my way. "Don't I always tell you not to question me, or raise your voice at me I'm the leader here, don't do that again or I won't miss next time," I say in a calm voice towards him.
