The Old Me

Because the guys have seen the kids and then heard one of them call me Mum I let them come in with the pizza and told the guys to wait in the living room, after that I tell the kids to freshen up in their rooms Mark had followed me into the kitchen.

"So why are they here and not gone?" Mark asks while sitting on the counter while taking a shrimp and eating it.

"They don't have any gas and so I'm letting them stay," Mark raises his eyebrows.

"Wow that's so...nice of you," I look at him strangely.

"So I'm not nice?" He crosses his arms and sits back in leans his head on the cabinets behind him.

"I meant how your usually not nice to people who come from your school, I've seen you do the utmost to avoid being seen by any of them, hell you acted as though you were a mannequin for a full hour until some girls from school had left the store," he chuckles his muscles bouncing on his chest.

"That was the old me...," I hesitate. "I'm graduating this year and then I won't have to see any of these kids again.

"What if we go to the same college?" Hunters asked entering the kitchen.

I'm not surprised that he was standing there Mark either already knew one of them would listen in or that sooner or later one of them would come into the kitchen cause the story he told isn't completely true he would have said the whole thing if it weren't for the fact he knew one of them was standing outside the kitchen.

"Well that wouldn't happen because I'm not going to college," I say still moving around the kitchen with great ease.

"Well how come, don't you have a dream job, that will make all the kids at school that has hurt you to be under your every demand?" He raises his eyebrows leaning on the kitchen island.

"I guess but still not going," he shrugs and watches me for a second while cooking the food.

"So those are your kids," he breaks the silence that was only there for a minute.

"Yep, I love them more than life," smile.

"Where's their dad...if you don't mind me asking?" He says quickly afterward.

"It fine, he is in Florida right now," I say while making the plates for the kids since the guys have pizza.

"Nice," he moves his head up and down. "Oh, you don't mind us staying the night right the towing companies I've called won't come until at least six in the morning," he sighs.

"Yeah, I have some spare rooms." I take a quick glance to where Mark was sitting and see his eyes narrowed at me.

He knows I don't really let anyone stay in this house unless there's a death involved but there's not so he probably...well I don't know what.

"Thanks, Hope, I'll tell the guys," he hits the counter and turns and walks away.

"What the hell was that? 'Yeah I have extra rooms' you know damn well you don't like people staying in your house," Mark mocks and actually decides it's okay to question me right now.

"It is what it is okay? That's all discussion over, alright?" I look at him expectingly.

He sighs. "Whatever," he sounds like an irritated teen that hit puberty too soon. He then gets down off the counter. "Well unless you need me anymore I'm going to be leaving to my apartment on down the road I'll be back in the morning you guys good?" he stretches out before making a grunting sound.

"Yeah we're good, night," I say about to also walk off to call the kids to eat.

"Night," he says before exiting the kitchen then the front door.
