I promise

Kelley and I are back in California. I've started summer classes and we have summer training for soccer. When I'm not studying I'm playing soccer and when I'm not playing soccer I'm with Kelley. Life is great.

I woke up this morning and Kelley was cooking breakfast. I took Brooklyn for a walk and came back.

"Here's your breakfast babe"

"Thanks Kel"

She's gotten a lot better at cooking. She's spent a lot of time in the kitchen trying to learn. I don't have any classes today and coach cancelled practice because of field maintenance. I checked my email and Jill called us in for camp in a couple of weeks.

"Hey kel"

"Yah babe"

"You wanna go for a run and then hit the weight room"

"I thought you'd never ask"

We worked out and went to another nearby field and worked on some skills.

We're currently sitting on the field drenched in sweat. I took a sip of the water I brought.

"Alright kel let's go get showered and do something"

We went home, showered, and were lounging around on the couch. So much for something.

"Hey Speedy."

"Yah"

I moved so that my head was on her lap. She put her hand through my hair and cupped my face.

"What do you think our kids would look like."

I looked at her a bit surprised.

"Well they would definitely have your eyes and your freckles oh and I definitely want them to have your gorgeous smile. What do you think they're gonna look like?"

"Well I definitely want them to have our abs."

"Oh yah"

I sat up and she crawled into my side. These were my favorite moments. When I could hold her and be close to her.

"Kel"

"Yah babe"

"Have you ever thought about what it would be like to settle down"

"Yah eventually but I feel like we should finish college."

She looked at me and I cupped her face.

"What do you think speedy"

"I think that your right. But I know for a fact that your the one I want to spend the rest of my life with."

I kissed her and then got an idea. I got off the couch and went to grab my keys, shoes and shades.

"Kel i have to get something. Just stay here and wait for me."

I drove to the mall and went to the jewelers. I was gonna get her a promise ring. I walked into the store knowing exactly what I was looking for. I asked the lady who sold me the last ring.

"Hello dear. What can I do for you today."

"I'm looking for a promise ring."

"For the same girl?"

"Yes ma'am"

"Too early for the wedding ring"

"Just a little bit but I know I wanna marry her"

Well then dear. Do you know what your looking for?"

"Yes ma'am."

I told her what I was looking for and she led me to the case. I saw the ring I was looking for. I pointed at the silver and black crown.

"That's a good choice."

She rung me up and then handed me the ring in a box and then another black ring similar to Kelley's.

"What's this for"

"Well dear that ones for you."

"What do you mean"

"Well you bought a promise ring for a girl. Your making a promise to her and she is making a promise to you. And the ring looks pretty bad ass dear."

"Thank you."

I turned to walk out of the store but then I turned around.

"I never got your name."

"Oh dear you can call me Ms. Abby"

"Well thank you Ms. Abby"

I walked out of the store and to my car. I started driving to the soccer field and I called Kelley.

"Hey Kel meet me at the soccer field Im on my way there now"

And I hung up.

I got to the field and walked over to the bleachers and waited for Kelley. A couple minutes later I saw her walking towards me.

"What are you doing. Why are we here."

"Kelley I want you to know that I love you. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

I took her hand and pulled the ring out with the other.

"This isn't a marriage proposal it's a promise. I promise that your the one I wanna be with. Your the one I wanna spend the rest of my life with and grow old with and have kids with. I love you."

"I love you too"

She was crying tears of joy and I wiped her tears and put the ring on her finger. I pulled her in close and kissed her. I held her tight.

"Alright now let's go eat i got your tacos from the taco shop."

"You did not"

"I did too"

"I love you Speedy"

"I love you Kel"
