Discovery

Throughout our lives,
We stick ourselves headfirst,
Into a darkness called the unknown.

Throughout these times,
We are curious in best and worst,
To learn from what isn't shown.

I have learned painful discovery;
People don't care about who you are.
So I have learned to ask questions.

I tend to avoid myself from the subject.
Yet, I want somewhat to be there.
Don't say I'm there when I wasn't.

All I said was that I was at fault,
That I had caused pain,
Because of my sorrow, you lash out.

So I'm sorry I made this about me.
That wasn't my intention.
I wanted to point out the reason.

Just as I have convinced myself,
I'm worried that you've fooled yourself.
As I'm someone who I'm not.

I'm worried for you.
Because of me.
Because of what's happened before.

I'm pretty good at making people hurt.
