I get up in the freezing winter morning, and run downstairs. I make myself some breakfast, put my jacket, gloves, and hat on. I eat while I wait for my brother Joan to wake up. He is teaching me how to hunt today. He says I will take his place in hunting while he trains for the Hunger Games and while he works. I am 12 now. My birthday was yesterday. I had a small get-together with my family and close friends. Joan gets up, comes downstairs and says, "Hey Clovie!!", he says.. I love that nickname. "Hey Joan!", "you ready to go hunt?"he says, "Sure am!". He walks over to his closet and puts his jacket on. He packs a bag with food, bandages, and some other stuff. He is very muscular, the kind of guy you think could kill you with a twist of his arm. But he is so much more than that. He is friendly, sweet, and caring. He has the most perfect smile and eyes green as the trees outside our house. He smiles, "Ok Clove, we are going off now, alright?", he says "alright", I saw with a smile. We walk into the freezing weather and he grabs me by the hand. I love his touch, I feel protected and warm. He is the best person   I know. We walk under the fence that separates the district from the woods. It is beautiful. The trees are just as green as Joan's eyes. He smiles and says, "Beautiful, huh?" "Yes". He takes out his sword from a hiding place we have. He takes out some knives, and says to try to throw them at the tree. I do, and it stick firmly. Joan looks surprised, as a lot of people in district 2 cant throw knives because of the physical strength, they are just too strong to control them with the right force. He knows I have a natural talent. "Good job, Clovie!", he says "Thanks" I say with a winning smile. We go back to the house with 5 rabbits, enough for 5 days! And I killed them all! Daddy would be proud of me, oh so very proud. Joan is proud too, and so are my mother and sister, Rose. I feel happy. I feel like a winner. Tomorrow, Joan will start his job and I will go to the woods by myself. It is going to be a great day tomorrow. I just feel it.
