I look at the title and realize that I have already read the book, but everyone doesn't need to know that. She passes out everyone a test and tells us that we can begin once we have finished our test.
I finished my test in twenty minutes or less. It was pretty easy nothing hard that we didn't already know. I get up from my seat and walked over to Ms. Crabtree's desk where she is typing away on her laptop. I clear my throat to get her attention.
"Oh hi, sweetie did you need help understanding a question?" She asks I shake my head no the hand the booklet like test over to her. She looks at me surprised before taking the test out my hands.
"Well then you can start on the reading unless you did that too," she chuckles.
"I actually have already read it and finished it very recently," I said.
"Then I guess you can grab one still for just in case and I guess as long as your quiet can be one your phone for a while unless you want to leave for your next class an hour early," she looked at the clock then back at me.
"I actually have a free period next... can I go still?" She nods but signals for me to wait. She grabs a sticky note and writes on it before handing it to me.
"That just in case anyone asks why you're out of class," she smiles before continuing typing. I grab a book from the box next to her desk before going to my seat to grab my belongings then walking out the classroom.
Walking down the hallway to the doors that lead me to the football field I was called back. I turned around to see Daniel at the end of the hallway jogging to catch up with me.
"Oh hey, Daniel is something wrong," I ask because I'm pretty sure he has a class right now.
"No, I just wanted to apologize for my behavior the other day at your place," he stuffs his hands in his pockets.
"That's fine just, please don't do that again," he bows his head.
"Okay, well I was going to the bathroom so I'll see you later oh and the kids asked to stay over for one more night," he looks back up at me.
"That's okay tell them I love them," he smiles.
"I will," he turns then walks in the direction of the bathroom.
"So is Daniel the dad?" I turn and see Shan leaning against the lockers. I scrunch my eyebrows when I look at him. When and where did he come from?
"You must have already figured that out, so I don't know why you ask," I shrug with a sigh.
"Hope I need to tell you something," Shan says nervously.
"Sure, what is it?" I say and act intrigued.
"I hate to say this but Ma-," Shan get cut off by the bell.
Ring, Ring, Ring
"Oh hold that thought I have to get to class, tell me later, bye," I back away then turn and speed walk down the hallway. Even though I didn't really have a class right now I didn't want him to tell the Mark thing in the crowded hallway with nosy children.
After what happened in the hallway with Shan I decided to go to the library to catch up on some of my favorite books and homework from Ms. Crabtree. When the bell rang I went on with my day by going to all my classes and eating lunch at a Zaxby's nearby. I do not like the school food that much I really only ever eat the nachos and tacos.
After school when the bell rings for everyone to go on with their lives outside of the prison cells teachers call the classroom. Everyone is either getting on to the bus or getting in there cars to leave. I have a car so I walk towards it so I can leave and go home then rest because I really don't feel like going to train newbies.
"Hope! Wait up for a second," Shan calls jogging over to my car where I stand with my door open waiting for me to get in my seat and close it.
"Yes, Shan," I look to him hoping he didn't catch the hint of whining in my voice.
"I really need to tell you something important," he says urgently.
"Okay continue," I say and cross my arms after I put my bag down inside my car.
"You know that guy Mark that your dating...well he is... cheating... on you," Shan says disappointedly like he's really upset he had to tell me this.
"How did you find this out," I act as though I'm confused and hurt.
"When I was at training and he was being a little too touchy with J," he said bitterly.
"Oh my gosh... Thank you, Shan, for telling me this, I've been having my suspicions but I didn't think they would be true so thank," I give him a fake but realistic sad smile.
"No problem, but is there anything I can do for you," I look down and act as though I'm about to cry.
"No I'm good, I need to go now, I'll...I'll see you later okay?" He nods and looks at me with sympathy.
I get into my awaiting car and drive off with a smile gracing my face. Guys can just be too easy.
