Chapter 81 - Our Day Will Come

Start from the beginning

Brittany and Santana came out in all different kinds of dresses. From short and flapper like to long and poofy they tried on everything. Brittany then walked out in a gorgeous dress with lace straps. "Oh Brittany, that's it," Mercedes said. "That is absolutely stunning," I agreed. "I think this is the one, you guys," Brittany whispered. "I think so, too. It looks so comfy, you could dance in it," Rachel agreed. "It's beautiful," Mercedes agreed. "I know, right?" Brittany grinned before she heard Santana's voice "Wow, Brittany, You look so beautiful," Santana said as she walked out. "Oh, my God, what are you doing?" Brittany asked Santana horrified. "I was going crazy back there, but you know what? Everybody's right. You look incredible," Santana said. "No, no, no. You're not supposed to see the dress before the wedding. Oh, my gosh, this is bad luck, Santana! Bad luck!" Brittany croaked freaking out. "It's okay, Britt. Calm down. It's gonna be okay," Santana said trying to comfort her but Brittany was too upset. She made Santana go back inside before changing out of her wedding dress. "We need to undo this bad luck," Brittany whined. "We will Britt...Santana's right it's going to be okay," I assured her. "Maybe," Brittany sighed still unsure about that.

After the whole dress fiasco with Brittany and Santana, Brittany wanted to undo the bad luck by picking 'the color that matched her insides' for the bridesmaids dresses. Oddly enough her bridesmaids dresses were the same color as Rachel's had been for her wedding to Finn. We hoped that this would be enough to calm Brittany down before the wedding.

Brittany and Santana's double wedding with Kurt and Blaine was to take place in the barn in Indiana that Brittany was born in. Everyone had done such a great job decorating the place to make it look beautiful for a wedding. Puck and I arrived together without Lexi. My mom had offered to watch her for the day so Puck and I could really enjoy the day of our 4 friends getting married without worrying about a fussy baby.

"Puck you're back," Rachel smiled as she hugged him. "Hey Rach, yeah I came back a few days ago," Puck chuckled. "Well it's good to have you back man," Sam said as he and Puck greeted each other. Rachel then linked arms with Sam. "Wait are you two.." Puck asked confused. "Yes they're dating," I told Puck. "Well...good for both of you," Puck said. "Thank you," Rachel and Sam smiled as they walked off.

"I did not see that coming," Puck said shaking his head. "I know what you mean...I never expected those two to end up together," I said seriously. "I didn't think Rachel was his type you know...I mean she's the total opposite of you," Puck said. I could understand what he was saying. We took our seats to watch the wedding take place. The ceremony was gorgeous. Watching our friends say their vows and marry one another was such a pleasure to be a part of.

For the reception Puck and I were up first to sing our song that we had decided on 'Falling Slowly' from Once. Puck and I got up onstage as I spoke into the microphone. "Hey everyone. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Quinn Puckerman. Brittany, Santana, and I have all pretty much done everything together from the time we were 13. We joined cheerios together, joined glee club together, and as of today my two best friends got married together and I couldn't be happier for them. Puck and I picked out this song because we think it describes your love story...well both of your love stories. Kurt and Blaine, I am so happy to see that you two found each other. Kurt, you were there for me during a hard time in my life and I can't thank you enough for that. You went through so much to get to this point where you are today so this is for all of you," I smiled as the song began to play.

"I don't know you," Puck sang. "But I want you," I sang. "All the more for that," Puck and I harmonized. "Words fall through me," Puck sang. "And always fool me," I sang. "And I can't react," Puck and I harmonized. "And games that never amount," Puck sang. "To more than they're meant," I sang. "Will play themselves out. Take this sinking boat and point it home. We've still got time. Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice. You'll make it now," Puck and I harmonized. "Falling slowly," I sang. "Eyes that know me," Puck sang. "And I can't go back," Puck and I harmonized. "Moods that take me," I sang. "And erase me," Puck sang. "And I'm painted black," Puck and I sang. "You have suffered enough," Puck sang. "And warred with yourself," I sang. "It's time that you won. Take this sinking boat and point it home. We've still got time. Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice. You'll make it now. Falling slowly, sing your melody. I'll sing along," Puck and I harmonized as Kurt and Blaine & Santana and Brittany had their first dance to that song. Everyone cheered as we finished.

It was then time for Brittany's father to give a toast. "Hello.

My name's Pierce Pierce. And I'm Brittany's father. And I was just told that I was expected to stand up and give a toaster. But, uh, I just called Target, and they're closed, so instead I'd just like to say a few words. Brittany? I'm so happy that you and Santana finally found one another. You look absolutely stunning in that gown. And, um, honestly? I can speak on behalf of my wife you're the prettiest one here. And I don't just think you're the prettiest. I think you're the prettiest by a long shot. I mean, if you look at all the other girls here, there's really no contest. I mean, some of them are just downright homely. You know what I'm talking about," Pierce began as Brittany's mother rushed over to try to shut him up. I couldn't help but chuckle a bit. "I was just informed that no one's ugly and to knock it off! In closing, I just want everyone to be really careful of the candles. Because with all that dry wood and hay bales, this place could up like a blowtorch. And we'd all be dead in minutes. So salud," Pierce said as he got offstage.

I couldn't help but laugh as his speech ended. "Well at least we see where Britt gets some of her ideas from," Puck said as I couldn't help but nod. "All right, everyone, so, uh, at this time, we would normally be serving dinner. But, um, before we do that, we have a gift for each and every one of you," Santana said as we all got our hats that said "OTP" on them. "So, in case you're basic and you don't know, OTP stands for "One True Pairing." And I've been lucky enough to find mine with Brittany. And Kurt and Blaine were lucky to find each other. And so in the spirit of everyone here finding their OTP, please join us on the dance floor. And let's get this party started," Santana said as everyone got up and danced the night away.

"If I could just steal your attention for one moment. On behalf of our inspirational brides, my husband and I whoa, that was weird to say. Uh, we would like to say thank you," Kurt smiled. "Thank you, thank you so much to all of our family and to all of our friends for showing us, by example, that real love is worth waiting for. And worth fighting for," Blaine said. "We would like to dedicate the next song to all the couples in the room, be it official or unofficial," Kurt said. "All right. So all couples to the dance floor, please," Santana said as Puck and I got up to dance together as Santana, Brittany, Blaine, and Kurt all sang 'Our Day Will Come' which was the perfect way to end the evening. I couldn't help but be happy for my friends. Their wedding was exactly how I'd hoped it would be and they seemed so happy and that was what they deserved. I hoped for the rest of our lives we would have more days like this to look forward to.
