Oncogenesis

From a cracked and barren land of dust sprung a sliver of vivacity, a misshapen oddity, a tumour of cancerous green on a landscape so sterile and clean

Sprouted arms and heads and so many legs, disease and famine followed in its stead, crawled into the gaps and layered toxic green paint over cochineal red

The desert dust needed a place in the land filled with life, and thus clay was shaped in God's image, two naïve figures, blasphemous by existence, husband and wife

Man came first, lumpy and crude, a testament to the value he really construed, then woman, an afterthought, shaped from his rib, told that her bare skin was all she could give

A serpent's seduction was all Eve needed, for her very name laid her bare as the preview before the story proceeded, and free will interceded, but her path was impeded

By the true enemy of man, the true seducer, sweet flesh that disguised the stone heart of Medusa, the snake was garnish ornamenting it's head, but it was the forbidden fruit that led her to bed

Realising her actions she was petrified, insides fossilised, potential realised. All she could give was her bare skin, only dust within, yet she still brought humanity to ruin

Spattered her body with toxic green paint, tear-streaks marked her as the only failed saint, forever worked to create, but all she could give to Eden was stony hate, because her redemption arrived thousands of years too late

Haha, I'm so funny. Get it?

Because oncogenesis is the formation of tumours, but it also contains the word Genesis? Biblical puns, get in!

Also, fun fact, green paint was incredibly poisonous, so when artists used to attempt to paint the Garden of Eden they would usually die, often from the paint triggering cancerous growths in their throats where they sucked the paint to reform the bristles of the paintbrushes. (So the ideas of tumours actually links, bc believe it or not I actually spent some time thinking about this one. Character development folks!)

I realised I'm over halfway, so hopefully I can keep it up!
