Camera

Click
A picture, a moment, confined to a sheet
A paper, unheard, taps an unmoving beat
Lives held accountable, frozen lips
The singular second on which a world tips

Click
There's another, it's beautiful right?
Don't their eyes hold such pure light?
No, it's a fraud, a happy facade
Of a family torn between tricky and hard

Click
An anomaly, a fricative hope
That the camera invented who aimed through the scope
Two shots taken, both ending a life
One dead, one imprisoned, both with a wife

Click
The camera is more similar than some might believe
To the human eye in the image it weaves
Both deceived by mirrors and smoke
Both fooled by false happiness, won by false jokes

Snick
Put down your photos and look for yourself
A camera works the same as an eye in good health
Both can trick you, but logic wins through
The mind is the tool that tells us what is true

Hi guys,

Long time no see. Completely my bad.

I had two lines to this poem written for three months, used them in this poem then ended up replacing them. RIP my poem placeholders.

Happy holidays,

Alex xxx
