A/N

The theme of this oneshot is based on Norse mythology. Just a disclaimer, but I don't worship or advocate the worship of Norse gods.

This is written in third person, and here below is the list of who is who.

Norway - Bragi, the god of poetry

Denmark - Baldr, the god of light

Sweden - Thor, the god of thunder

Iceland - Loki, the god of tricks (doesn't fit him, but still)

FinlandMáni, the god of the moon

You - the human (don't give me your "i'm not human comments)

-

Except for Norway, Denmark, and you, nobody else will have dialogue in this oneshot.

Enjoy!

Bragi looked down from the sky, curiously watching humans do their work. He was trying to ignore Baldr, who was excitedly running around with his radiant face, doing something that Bragi couldn't fathom.

Bragi, being the god of poetry, plucked a few strings of his lyre, and sung a song he made on the spot, upon observing the humans.

"Harmonious, hard at work are mortals. Day and night they tire and labor to put bread on their table."

Before Bragi could go any further, Baldr sneered,

"Bragi, again with your songs? You know that I can make better songs than you!"

Bragi ignored Baldr and continued singing,

"With their various occupations, every day is a struggle to earn, spend, live, survive. Oh the sweat and blood they put into their effort is something worthy of praise!"

"Mortals earn to survive... or squander. To survive, and save for the future is wisdom, but to squander wealth is foolishness."

"Mortals, oh mortals, heed mine voice."

With the final strum, he paused to look down again. Nothing seemed interesting up in the sky. The only thing Baldr would do is frolic, Thor would be in some dark place, either thundering somewhere or cleaning his Mjolnir.

As for Loki, he'd be going around causing mischief in the most subtle ways possible. Máni on the other hand, minded his own business.

Bragi looked back down at the humans. He found one certain woman with a lyre, singing on the street. She had a clay bowl in front of her to contain the money she received. She wore a hooded cloak, and sung songs in praise of nature, and the gods.

He was immediately interested. He decided that it was about time he visited the mortals while disguising himself.

He went down to where the mortals lived, and clothed himself with a hooded cloak, which covered the top part of his face completely, and walked down the stone streets, looking for the woman with the lyre. He finally found her, and saw that nobody was listening to her.
