End Of The Road...

••••••••••

In my mind,

I'm standing at the end of the road.

Feet on the gravel

With nowhere else to go.

With eyes closed,

I wish to run away.

I want to go to a place

Where my thoughts can be at bay.

I want to cross the borderline

Into another state.

And I'm not all that hopeful,

So sometimes I think I'm a bit too late.

And I know he'll just follow me

No matter how far.

Even a million miles by foot

Or by car.

I just want to get away from here,

Get away from the drama.

But I'm just a 'baby',

I know I'd miss my mama.

And sometimes I know

That I am cared for.

But am I ever needed?

Nope, never before.

And sometimes I wish I'd never been born

Or that I would've moved somewhere else.

"Well, I'm glad you're here,"

Is what people tell me. Whatever.

But when I open my eyes,

I still stand glued to the end of the road.

Feet on the gravel

With nowhere else to go.
