"Why did you do that to her?" Wonwoo hissed at the girl.

She looked at him sharply.

"Why did you pull her hair?!" He raised his voice louder, getting attention from everyone in the cafeteria.

"Can't you see? She spilled lemonade on me!"

"So you decided to spill a cup of hot coffee on her?" He shot back.

I blinked repeatedly, trying to suppress my tears.

"I..." She was left speechless.

"Leave her alone." He simply said and grabbed my wrist, pulling me away from the scene.

"Why are you letting them bully you?"

He sat on the chair next to the sick bay bed.

"I don't want to fight them."

"You don't have to fight them. You just need to stand up for yourself."

I kept quiet and applied cold pressure onto my burned wound.

"I won't let them bully you again. I'll be by your side."

"That's nice." I smiled forcefully.

"No. I promise."

"Promises are meant to be broken."

"But they are also meant to keep."

I kept quiet while Wonwoo grinned victoriously.

"I'll be your hero."

He lets out his pinky.

I looked at it before looking into his eyes.

He smiles gently.

I linked my pinky with his.

"Please keep it."

- Present -

Wonwoo kept his promise and rescued me from the bullies every time they looked for trouble.

In fact, he saves me every time in which i grew dependent on him.

Unfortunately, he can't protect me anymore due to what happened.

I'm alone again.

The feeling of being alone scares me so much that I have no choice but to get used to it.

Until this guy who appeared from nowhere said that he'll save me.

why does he have to say it in a way that i can trust him?

I stared up at the ceiling with my swollen eyes.

I just came out of the shower and is currently in daze.

oh, i haven't told him about the job yet.

He's probably asleep now, i guess i'll tell him tomorrow.

I snicker as I thought of the conversation we had just now.

"I want to go to school."

"Trust me, you wont like school."

"But how am i supposed to save you if im not by your side?"

Truth to be told, my heart fluttered when he said that he will protect me.

"Ah..."

I ruffled my hair in annoyance.
