The Fiery Alpha Chapter Thirty One – Promise

*Madelynn’s POV*

 “Mate.” The pull towards him is so strong. I wanted to just leap into arms, with him hugging me tightly telling me that everything is going to be ok. No matter what happened, there will always be him by my side. However I know that is not the case. He will not be mine.

‘No Madelynn! He’s our mate!’ Callie protested in my mind.

‘He said he didn’t want to be with me.’ I said. I know Callie wanted to protest but she couldn’t find anything to say.

‘I know. I heard it too.’ Callie sighed inwardly. ‘I understand.’

Suddenly, I felt something landed on the tip of my head. There are sparks shocking my head. I immediately jerked away from it causing him to whimper. Whimper?! I looked up to him to see his pair of sad eyes staring straight into my eyes. His hand is still hanging in the mid-air.

I didn’t mean to. I thought what was touching my wolf head. I lowered down my head and whimpered silently. No matter what, I still didn’t like to see him sad. Once again, I felt something on my head again. This time, I got surprised for a while before relaxing knowing it was just him. Callie purred in happiness when he started stroking our head gently. He slowly kneeled down beside us. Naturally, we scoot closer to him and rested our head on his lap. Once our muscles totally relaxed, our legs gave way and our body falls entirely on him.

“Madelynn!” Jayden held us closer to him.

“Inform the girls to bring some clothes for Madelynn.” Jayden commanded. “Now!”

Landon quickly shifted back into a wolf and speeded off with the other wolf. I could feel our energy draining off after such a long run. Then, I suddenly remembered. I quickly stood up from the ground. I wanted to tell him about Hailey but my messages came out as some barking, woofing sounds. I’m pretty much got irritated by it and my frustrated whining came out as some low growls. Grrrrr…

“Madelynn, I don’t understand what you are trying to tell me. You got to shift back. I’m asking the girls to get some clothes for you to put on after you shift.” Jayden said.

Gosh! It’s urgent!! Hailey is in danger!! And we do not know what is happening to her while we are talking!

‘How do I shift back into human form, Callie?’

‘Portray yourself as a human. I will return your control back to you now.’ Callie said.

Human. Human. Me in human. I chanted in my head.

Is it working? I looked down to see my furry paws and then up to see Jayden glaring down at me. Nooo… I groaned in frustration.
