The Fiery Alpha Chapter Nineteen – Alone

*Madelynn’s POV*

I do not know how long I stayed at the lakeside, staring into space. Tears are dried on my cheeks. My mind is in a blank state. I stood up from the ground dazedly and started walking.

I should head back home now.

I can’t go back to the pack house now. And my parents are probably worried about me. I haven’t called them since the accident happened. I wondered how they are. I don’t remember in details how I went home from the lakeside. I just walked and walked based on instinct. Just as I reached the street where my house is located, I saw a wolf ran across the street. I quickly ran up to my house. Half way there, I saw my dad dashing out of the house.

“Dad! Dad!!” I ran up to him quickly, grabbing his arm.

“Let go of me!!” My dad flung my arm away and hurried away.

“Dad! What’s going on?!” I chased after him and shouted.

“Your mum is being injected!” My dad threw down these words and speed off in his wolf form. Within seconds, he is already nowhere to be seen.

“Dad!!!” I looked around the surrounding panicky.

“What should I do? What should I do?” I mumbled urgently. My mind is in a fuzzed. I started digging my bag, looking for my phone.

“ARGH! My phone! Where’s my phone?!” I turned over my bag and poured everything out on to the ground. Once I found my phone, I quickly dialled the numbers. I could feel my hands trembling. Every ring in the phone feels like forever.

“Hurry. Pick up. Please pick up.” I chanted.

“He-llo?” The person on the other end sounded a little breathless. I think I just called at the wrong time.

“Hailey? Haliey!! I’m sorry but I need help! I need help… My mum… My dad… They… Wolf…” I panicked like mad. My mind is not thinking straight till I couldn’t even form a correct sentence.

“Lynn? Calm down. Tell me what has happened.” Hailey said through the phone worriedly.

“I was on the streets, heading towards my house. Then, I saw a wolf ran past. I hurriedly walked towards my unit when I saw my dad. He said something like my mum got injected and he went after my mum, shifting into a wolf. I don’t know where they went now. I can’t find them anywhere. I-I don’t know what to do. I-I…”

“Calm down, Lynn. Where are you now?” Hailey asked.

“I’m outside of my house.” I said.

“Ok. Wait for me inside your house. I will come over now.” Hailey said before hanging up the phone.
