Lucas

Glass shattered, chairs overturned, and bottles of alcohol empty on the floor.

My heavy breathing was the only sound in the quiet, dark room.

"Dammit!" I yelled again, punching the desk.

My blood trailed to the floor and it made a tiny puddle.

I laid my head in my hands, wanting nothing else but to turn back time. To not have walked away, to not have spoken the wrong words, to not have let her go.

"W-what?" She asked.

I stayed silent, regretting the words that came out.

"Leave," she said as a tear fell. I wanted to wipe it away, to hold her close, to tell her it'll be okay but I can't.

"Please leave," she said in a whisper. She gave up, it was all in the shaky breath she let go.

I stood up and left. I walked out the hospital and went straight home.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. I repeated to myself.

The perfect white wall was ruined with holes and trailing blood.

I shouldn't have said those four words. I should've told her I loved her. Instead, I rejected her.

I grabbed my phone and dialed the familiar number.

"Hello?" The voice said.

"Do you miss me like I miss you Mo?" I said.

"Lucas," she asked. I heard the way her voice cracked.

"Answer me, please."

"Your drunk," she said.

The dial tone followed after her voice. I threw my phone across the room only to see it shatter.

I cursed at myself, at my mind, at the world.

I went into my room and changed, then went to Jacksons room.

"Yo man, can you take me somewhere?" I asked him.

"Yeah sure," he said and got up. He didn't ask where but he knew where.

It took us five minutes to drive there, it took me two minutes to get on her floor, it took me ten seconds to reach her door, and it's taking me forever to knock.

Man up, I said to myself.

My fist was up in the air, about to knock until I heard her screams. Ear piercing screams that killed me to hear.

I put my hand on the door knob but it was closed. I looked everywhere for a spare key and found one on top of the door frame.

Once I got the door opened, I ran to the room where the screams got louder and louder.

She was thrashing in her bed, screaming and trying to fight something or someone off. As I got closer I saw her eyes were closed shut, tears running down her face, and blood on her fingers.

I grabbed her body and brought her closer to me, rubbing her back and whispering in her ear.

"It's me baby, it's Lucas. No one else but me. Don't worry, it'll be okay." I kept repeating.

She calmed down after a few minutes and only her sniffles, harsh breathing, and whimpers were heard. I looked around her to see where the blood was coming from and saw her arms covered in it. Then I saw her fingers go to her arms and pinch herself, scratch until blood came out. I grabbed bandages and a wet towel.

After cleaning up the blood and dressing her cuts, I laid her down. She was sound asleep and I got up.

"Don't leave, please," I heard her vulnerable voice say. My heart broke at how scared she was.

I laid down next to her, grabbing her hand and intertwining ours together.

"It'll be okay sweetheart," I said. I kissed her forehead and continued to rub her back. I played with her hair until I heard her even breaths.

I called Jackson and told him to go home.

Staring at her ceiling, I couldn't help but feel sad.

Her memories were messing with her head.

It's a short chapter, I know! Next chapter will be a flashback of Imogens and it'll probably be a sad one
