"1..2..3 go," I heard the muffled voices say.

My body went up and a shocking feeling coursed through my body. It felt like I was a fish out of water.

The noises of a flat line sounded throughout a room.

"C'mon darling don't die on us. 1..2..3 go," the same voice said.

My body once again shot up with the electrifying feelings. My eyes opened in shock and everything was white. A woman with a doctors coat was standing or walking on my side while others were rushing around. The hard stretcher I was on was moving fastly.

Panic arose within me and I was confused as to what I was doing in the hospital.

"Sweetie, my name's Dr. Webb. You were in a car accident. As far as I know from the impact, you broke a few bones and fractured others. We won't know everything else until we can get you into surgery. You were unconscious by the time my EMTs arrived but Officer Brooke's told me that you most likely don't remember stuff. I need you to count from 10 to 1 while we put you under anesthesia okay?"

I nodded at Dr. Webb and tried to count backwards as the anesthesia was taking its toll on me. The information that I was given was also weird.

**********

I woke up in another white room with wires and needles attached to me. A soft duvet was covering my hospital gown covered body. Some wounds were present on my arms and continued on down. My head pounded and it wasn't until something shuffled that unnoticed someone was also in the room.

My heart rate accelerated at the unknown male sleeping on the hospital chair.

The monitor beeped faster as my heart rate skyrocketed and the male awoke as well. Some nurses came rushing into the room to see what was happening and they saw me awake. They adjusted some stuff and gave me medicine while also fixing the drip.

My eyes were still widened as the male was still in the room.

"Who are you?" I loudly whispered to him once the nurses left.

I shielded my body with the covers and put my knees to my chest.

"Y-you don't remember me?" He asked.

The doctor from earlier came into the room smiling and holding a clipboard. I sighed in relief at her interruption.

"Well, glad that your awake Ms. Montas. This gentleman came just in time to tell us your identity. I have good and bad news. Which one would you like first?"

Ms. Montas? Was that my last name?

"Start with the bad and then the good," I said.

"Well the bad news is that from the car accident, you did break a lot of bones as well as fracturing two ribs. Part two of the bad news is that you have temporary amnesia. We don't know how long it'll last for it could be a day, week or weeks, or longer. But your memories will come back one by one maybe or all at once. The good news is that your body is reacting well to the medicine and healing fast. Also, even though you did break a great amount of bones, they weren't ones that would cause you to take physical therapy ."

I sighed at the news I was given. I was also thankful at the good news and that my life wouldn't have to change much.

Dr. Webb left and I was alone with the stranger.

He sighed as well. "So you don't remember me." He said as a statement rather than a question.

"No, I don't. But you look familiar," I said.

He did. His face seemed like it's embedded in my mind but it's blurry. Everything I used to remember, more like every person, is just a blurry face until I can make it crystal clear. But for now, it was just a puzzle waiting to be solved.

"Let me introduce myself, I'm Lucas Ricci. I met you back in the US. I'm in love with you and you had recently told me you were in love with me too." He said as a tear slipped his eye.

My hand instinctively reached out to wipe it. I retracted my hand as if I just touched fire.

He looked at me with a glint of surprise and hurt in his eyes. The hurt from me retracting my hand and the surprise from me actually willingly touching him.

"I'm sorry, I don't know what got into me," I said.

"Don't say sorry," he said sadly.

"I'm still going to love you Imogen. I'm going to make sure you fall in love with me all over again and I'll be by your side every step you take, every uphill and downhill, every tear and smile, every laugh and cry, I'll be there with you. And that's a promise."

Kachow, sorry not sorry. Next chapter may be set a few days or weeks ahead or not. I don't know yet.

This took a little of force to finish because I wanted to stop it earlier but the promise is needed for future chapters a.k.a two or three chapters ahead.

She will remember everything but it'll take time.

Also, on a random note, I want me a Lucas. I also went on a social media hiatus where I deleted Instagram, twitter, and Snapchat. And it's all because I want to focus on writing and myself.

I really hope you enjoyed this chapter and are not wanting to kill me because it'll get better... or not 😉.
