"But there are victims; please help us," Soo Yeon begged.
"I'm a victim too. Do you know how hard it is to live in this skin with this body? Do you have an idea of what suffering means? To feel harmed to the core of your being? How it feels to wake up and sleep in a constant torment of the past?" Chae Yeong pulled up her coat sleeves; "you see, this is my world."
Cuts filled the woman's wrists like bangles. Soo Yeon wondered how many times the former icon tried to kill herself.
The girl's eyes filled with tears as she empathized with Chae Yeong's pain.
To Chae Yeong's surprise, Soo Yeon got down on her knees.
"Shin Chae Yeong Ssi, you are right. I don't know your story, but I know you suffered, and you are still hurting. I can't compare your pain with mine, but I know one thing, if I were you, I would do everything in my power to stop the people who made my life hell on earth. I've been living in hell since they destroyed my life, and I swear I will not rest until they pay. Please help me," Soo Yeon said, bowing in front of the woman.
Passers-by stopped to stare at the strange scene.
Chae Yeong, embarrassed, reacted immediately, "I'm sorry, I can't help you," the woman turned on her heels and left Soo Yeon in her pleading posture.
Soo Yeo understood the woman's fear; she didn't blame her, for she knew how it was when the past burnt you alive daily.
She got up, took her phone, and sent a message to FIXXIT:
Chae Yeong entered the private lounge; the best solution was to run away. Kwon Jin would let her live as long as she hid.
She found a seat and sat down.
"Aren't you tired of running?" said the voice of the person who sat back to back to her.
"Wow, I guess I'll never be free. How did you find me?" Chae Yeong asked.
"I have my resources."
"What do you want?"
"The time has come, Chae Yeong, you and I are Kwon's silent victims. He has to pay."
"He will kill you and me afterward," Chae Yeong said.
"He won't if we get him first."
"Why are you here? You already have all the elements," Chae Yeong asked without turning her head to speak to the person face to face.
"I need your consent; I'm not an animal. I can't unleash this evidence into the world without you wish me to do it. I want you to agree to take Kwon Jin down Chae Yeong; your choice counts. He is an enemy of our gender. Kwon Jin might have made you think you were worthless, that you were a grain of sand amongst millions of women, but let me tell you; he told you a lie."
Chae Yeong's breath hitched, "what if it doesn't work? Kwon Jin as people in the police and at the prosecutor's office."
"Who said I would go to the police? I have a more efficient method of diffusing the information, one which even justice cannot ignore. If it doesn't work, I will take responsibility; I will not fail you. I'm on your side Chae Yeong. You are not alone."
Chae Young remembered the long-haired woman who came to meet her three years ago. The visit was unexpected, and what the woman told her then was even more surprising. Now she was there to keep the promise she made Chae Yeong. Though Chae Yeong didn't see her interlocutor's eyes, she knew they scorched with the flames of revenge.
"Use it," Chae Yeong said.
The woman behind her got up and began to walk away.
"Doesn't bother you to take down a family member?" The former model was curious to know the answer.
The lady stopped in her tracks and adjusted her clutch bag to her side.
"We were never family," the woman replied without turning to look at Chae Yeong.
Seoul, Gangnam
Soo Yeon sent other messages to FIXXIT as she returned to her apartment.
