The men of Demisewood Creak are powerful, wealthy, controlling people. They control the new world and mostly everything in it, including their wives, and the ladies in the cages. The cages are where young women are put on display, until a man takes interest in her. If they like you, they will wed you, and the ladies will be under their control at all times.

For Elena Williams, she fears the cages, unlike most who were proud and honoured to be caged. Elena comes from a very poor family, but unfortunately all young poor women must be put on display. Only the wealthy women can walk away freely. Days, weeks and months go by, before anyone even gives her a second look, but one young Heir finally likes what he sees. Will Elena wed him? Or will she be another demise Caged?
