We got to the bar and ordered drinks. Sharon started telling us a bit about her childhood.

"My mom tried to talk me on enlisting, but... not aunt Peggy. She brought me my first knife holster. - Very practical. - And stylish."

I snorted and took a sip of my strawberry daiquiri. "So, Director Carter must've been fun when she was younger."

"Oh, she was," Steve said. "Peggy could beat a man senseless without getting a hair out of place."

"Man, I wish I could have known her," Kate said. "I feel like we would be great friends."

"CIA has you stationed over here now?" Steve asked Sharon.

"In Berlin, joint terrorist and task force."

"Sounds fun," I said.

"I know, right?"

"So, I've been meaning to ask you something," Steve said to Sharon.

"Well, we're gonna go talk to Sam" I said. Kate was about to start laughing from nerves. I grabbed her hand and dragged her over to Sam. "You good now?" She nodded. "Good. Hey, Sam, what are you doing?"

He gestured to the tv. "I'm watching the news."

"And now onto the bombing in Vienna," the female reporter said. We looked at each other and ran to Steve.

"Steve," Sam said, calmer than I would have been able to manage. "There's something you need to see." I grabbed his arm and dragged him to the television.

"... blast through the UN building in Vienna."

"Who's coordinating?" Steve asked.

"More than 70 people have been injured. At least 12 are dead. Including Wakanda's King T'Chaka. Officials have released a video of a suspect, identified as James Buchanan Barnes, the Winter soldier. The infamous HYDRA agent, linked to numerous acts of terrorism and political assassinations."

I groaned. "Well, now we know what happens when we don't go to an Avengers function. Something gets blown up." I walked over to the bar tender. "Hi, one bottle of vodka, please?" I took out the credit card Stark had given me.

"Uhh, cancel that," Kate said. "Monica, we need you sober and alert for this."

I sighed and put the card away. "Fine. Let's go." I waited for the rest of the group to leave and turned to the bar tender. "Two shots, please." I took them and ran to join the group.
