'Dylan, hi' said Alice, waving at me.

Then the world seem to go back to normal speed. 'Alice' i said quietly, lifting my hand to wave, but it came out very lame. She said something to her friends and then started walking over to me.

'What do you think?' she said

'Eh, you look great' i said trying to look at her face and not anywhere else.

'Oh, thanks, but I, eh actually meant the party i hosted' she said looking around

'Oh the party, ya...' said said utterly embarrassed. (Why am i so stupid? Now i completely made everything completely awkward)' The party is awesome, so many people from the camp are here. You really did a great job' i said nodding while looking around.

'Thank you...oh' she said and held up my arm 'You wore my bracelet' she said, putting her arm beside mine. She had me and herself light blue and a dark blue chevron bracelets.

'Yep' i said smiling. Alice started to smile. Oh no. That smile again...

'Everyone come and get yo wings' said Alice's brother. Everyone ran for it. They've been cooking for about half an hour by now. The aroma of perfectly seasoned juicy chicken wings that has been cooking for ages had my cravings go overdrive.

Later in the evening when it had gotten a bit dark, Alice's brother took us out to the open field behind her house and gave us sparklers... which were SO cool. Everyone ran up about with them. Then i heard someone call my name. It had gotten a bit darker, which made it much more creepier.

'Dyllaann....' said the voice again. I couldn't see who was calling me. The sparklers weren't that much help either. I gave up and started to walk back to the crowd again...

'OOOFFFHHH!' I said nearly falling forward. 'Whaaa?!' I said trying to look up, but someones hair was covering my face. My neck was being strangled. I hear the tiniest giggle behind me.

'...Alice?' i say, stunned. The laugh starts to get louder. I try to run around and wiggle to get her off me but she was like a laughing, screaming magnet. Soon, i stopped and a carry her off my back, chuckling.

'What was that for?' I say, gasping for air.

'You didn't say Happy Birthday to me' she said, as if that was the perfect excuse.

'Well... happy birthday?'

'Come on' she said as she takes my arm and drags me back to the crowd.

'Mom, I'm telling you Alice was so different' i said. I had gotten back back home from Alice's birthday. Mum was baking I'm the kitchen.

'Well that just a part of growing up Dylan, she 13 now' Mom said, as she baked an apple pie.

'Ya but Mom? She's  had many birthday's before, it just doesn't make sense'

'Well, maybe for boys you don't seem to change drastically when you turn thirteen unlike girls'

Ugh, why do girls have to be always so complicated.

I went up to my room and fell flat on my back. I don't feel it just Alice that has changed, it's everyone. I looked at Tom who was sitting on my bed room shelf. He had this smile on his face. He didn't talk but I knew what he was trying to tell me.

'Welcome to teenage years kiddo' and I made him do a fake wink in my head.

I turned around and stared out my bedroom window. It felt like the whole world was going too fast for me to keep up.
