"Dude your going, and that's final" said Jake making the perfect sandwich in Nathan's kitchen.

We had just won the finals . By the time we had finished celebrating, getting our trophy and medals and everything it was already 11 of clock.

Mom decided she wanted to go home already because she had really bad migraines from the game, so I texted her that I would crash at Nathan's house tonight.

Jessica was having... of course... a pool party at her house tommorow tonight, since her parents were away for the day.

We had slept till 2 in the afternoon but I was still feeling really tired and wasn't really in the mood to "par-tay".

'C'mon Dylan, don't want to be a sad ass... Alice and Kara will be there' Nathan smirked as he ate his ginormous sandwich.

I looked at them in disbelief.

"Fine I'll go... not because Alice or Kara is going. I'm going so you guys will stop making "smart" gestures on why should go. Were not 10 anymore' I said, toasting some bagles.

'Your social game is going down. Your like the only guy without a girlfriend' Jake said as Nathan nodded.
After the game when we got back home, our phones were going off like crazy especially Jake and Nathan. Their girlfriend decided that it ws the right time to text them at 4 am about how good they were at the game which was totally okay....

"So, there's like loads of girl who would love to date me' I said, looking outside

They muttered something to each other that I didn't quite catch so I pretended not to hear, making my 3 bagles sandwiches with bacon, cheese, chicken, mayonaise and lettuce.

"This is going to be ligit' said Jason as his brother drove us to Jessica's.

Every time Jessica has a party it always go wild. When we got there the party was already upbeat. The cheerleaders wanted to make this party "special" and "over-the -top" for the football team.

We got out of the car and walked up to her door. Katie, Jessica's best friend opened the door before we even knocked.

'You guys took yo-your time. C'mon' she said, dragging Jason in with his arm, stumbling as he made her way to the party outside.

Me and Nathan followed behind. Drinks and streamers were every where.

'Jessica really outdid herself this time, didn't she?' said Nathan.

'Ya, I guess' I replied, looking around.

We walked all the way to the back. The speaker were playing 'Symphony' by Clean Bandit ft. Zara Lesson. People were jumping in and out of the pool screaming.

Jessica and Lucy (Nathan's girlfriend) came  up to us.

'Dylan, Nathan' said Jessica handing us drinks.

'Hey, cool party' I nodded.

'Thanks to you' said Lucy, holding Nathan's arm 'We wouldn't have this party if it wasn't for you two' she smiled.

'I'm gonna go over there, okay?' Said Jessica and walked off to greet some other guest.

Lucy whispered something in his ear and then looked down to the ground, doubling up.

Nathan looked at me 'Hey, is it okay if I take Lucy to the bathroom. I think she's going to be sick.'

'No problem'

They walked off, so I was now standing by myself by the pool. Bad idea. A guy canon-balled straight into the pool, causing a tsunami to form. Luckily enough, I moved in time to keep my red hoodie dry.

I looked around and saw Alice and Poppy sitting on a bench near the barbecue grill.

I started walking over to them. Poppy was wearing a red bralette and black short while Alice was wearing a nude colour bandeau with high waist black denim shorts.

They were laughing about something but they saw me coming, they whispered to each other and sat up straight pretending that they never saw me.

'Hey' I waved

'Dyllllannn' said Poppy patting the bench in between them.

I sat in between them. They were giggling hysterically.

'So what were you guys at tonight?'

'WE, we were talking and drinking little, just a little' said Poppy pinching her fingers and squinting her eyes.

You could tell that they drinking way more than "a little". I hate the feeling of drinking to much the night before and then waking up with a terrible migraine. I over drank once and I'm not planning on trying that again.

'So what we're you guys talk--'

'What were we talking about?! Is that what your going to ask?' Said Alice laughing, poking my chest.

'He so nosy...like Santa. The guy app-apparently knows when we're sleeping or-or cooking' Poppy spluttered.

Alice and Poppy were talking a load of nonsense now. I don't think they were truly aware of what they were saying.

'Okay, okay I tell you what we were talking about but you can't tell Dylan' said Alice.

'Dylan, who? Dylan Grey?!' I said, confused and also wondering if she knew who I was.

She put her finger on my lip and nodded. 'Yes Daniel, now listen' she whispered. I decided to play along.

She put her mouth close to my ear. 'We were talking about Dylan'

'Yes, I know. What about him?'

'We were talking about how cute he is' she smiled and bit the bottom of her mouth 'Although Poppy doesn't think he's all that cute, I think he's purrfect' she said, wobbling her head side to side.

I looked at Alice, having no idea on what to say next. She continued to whisper.

'See, Dylan's not like other guys. He's not obnoxious or rude. He's funny and selfless and ever so adooorable' she tugging my arm and rolling her eyes.

Then she looked away, upset 'But he likes Kara and Kara's still in love with him but she's just using Tyler as some kind of distraction. I mean like, EVERYONE likes Dylan but he'd never like me the way he liked Kara.' She cried very loudly, leaning on the side of my arm. Thank goodness the music was very load if not EVERYONE outside would have heard.

I literally couldn't believe what I was hearing. How come I had never truly realized Alice felt this way? And I'm meant to be her best friend.

Alice looked at me 'Danny, I'm I ugly?

'No Alice, your perfect' I said gently, looking at her straight into her eyes.

There was an awkward silence for a moment.

She smiled again. 'Dean?'

'Yeah?'

'Can I have a hug?'

'Sure' and I pulled her into a hug. A few moments later, Alice had fallen asleep. Poppy had gone to hang out with some other guy.

Jessica said she was staying over at her house tonight so I helped her carried her to her room.

'Wow, she was real wasted, wasn't she?' whispered Jessica, crossing her arms.

'I guess' I nodded, running my fingers through my hair.

I texted Nathan that I was going to go home early because I was feeling sick. I still needed to process what just happened.
