"Ooh, any special lady of yours that your escorting to this dance Jacob?" said Mom, smiling.

"Mom..." I moaned.

"Ugh Dylan, you never like me talking about things to your friends--"

"Because you don't talk about normal things to them."

"I remember when I went to the a Halloween dance like that" She smiled dreamily, completely ignoring my fact. I rubbed my eyes, annoyed.

"Well it was actually a fundraising fair. I was dressed up as a dead bride. And I went with this guy. But he was a real ding in the dong. He didn't win me anything. Not a single prize to be seen. He only cared about being seen with me by his friends. So I left and sat by myself near a fountain. And then your dad came Dylan. With a huge furry bear in him arms, saying that he won and didn't know what to do with it, so he gave it to me and then we started to hang out and--" she said, getting a bit carried away.

"Oh that's real sweet Mrs Gray, but we should really get going" Jake chuckled.

"Hmm, well if you see anyone by themselves, go up to them and talk. There's no harm in being nice" said Mom, taking her car keys.

I gave Jake a thanks bro look. He smiled back nudging my arm.

"We only got four minutes to save the world, no hesitating..." the acapella's sang.

It was amazing the performance was spectacular. Light beams and lasers were everywhere. All the cheerleaders were doing pyramids and cartwheels everywhere, dressed up as dead cheerleaders. They all looked completely identical with the same. It was all dark and foggy when we went into the the hall.

They were singing '4 Minutes' by Madonna ft. Justin Timber lake in a haunted thriller remix. It was so cool.

After he show, the dance continued like any other dance. With drinks, snack etc.

"Yo, that was legit... but we had to pay $15 to watch a four minutes show" said Jake.

"Ya. Who cares. It was good." I said, nodding.

Jake and I soon met up with Nathan.

"Nathan. You came" I said.

"Ya I guess. I'm just waiting for Lucy" he smiled. Nathan had the flu yesterday so he couldn't make it to training which was surprising because Nathan never gets sick. He had trophies for perfect attendance.

"I'm still sick though, but Lucy begged me to come." Just there, Lucy came out still wearing her cheer outfit. She was the lead singer along with this guy called Ben.

"Hey Lucy, you were great out there" said Jake. Nathan nodded, kissing her on the cheek.

"Thanks guys" she smiled.

Later on, after drinks and mini hoedowns, the lights went low, as they started playing a slow dark song. Nathan and Lucy went off and soon Jake was dragged of by one of the cheerleaders. Possibly Kara. I mean, It could have been any one of them. They literally all  look the same.

So I was all by myself. Well some girl in a vampire costume as me to dance with her, but I honestly wasn't feel like dancing tonight. I walked out of the hall and see a cheerleader sitting on the floor, drinking punch from a cup.

I looked at the mysterious cheerleader, perhaps a little too long, wondering what she was doing on the floor all by herself. She took another sip of her drink and looked and me, smiling curiously.

"Sorry, I just--" I said, nervously. She probably thought I was some kind of stalker.

"No, no it's fine...sit" she said, patting the floor.

I hesitated, but eventually sat beside her. She offered me her drink, but I shaked my head.

"Hmm" She smiled, and looked at the wall opposite her.

"I know, your probably wondering why I'm sitting on the floor by myself and not enjoying the dance because 'I'm a cheerleader' and 'I would never let a dance go to waste' " she said, sarcastically in a perky high voice.

I didn't know if I should reply to this or not.

"I honestly don't know how people do it. Dancing 24/7. I mean, don't you ever wanna do something else with your life? Have an adventure of a lifetime? Do something you thought you could never do? Take risks and challenge the impossible?"

"Yeah" I said, thinking. Life is pretty boring nowadays isn't it?

She took another long sip of her drink. "Hey". She went on her knees and looked at me. "Come with me"

"Where?"

"Let say, on a little adventure" she said, holding out her hand.

I looked her. I still didn't know who I was. She certainly did not know who I was either if she was dragging me to come with her. But I still took her hand as she led me down the hall.
