Aphmau's POV

I open my eyes, drowsy erupting in my body. 

I feel a hand tighten around my hand.

I hear the beeping sound that came from a heart monitor.

I heard my name.

I heard a voice.

Aaron.

"...Aph..aph...Oh my Irene thank you.." He manages out.

I look around at my surroundings, there was a doctor talking with Katelyn, and Aaron by my hospital bedside.

"What happened?" I ask, my voice hoarse.

Aaron dropped his head and started to tear up. 

The doctor started to speak.

"Ms. Phoenix, you have what is to be a noncancerous tumor in your brain called Acoustic neuroma. I can remove it surgically."

"Surgery?" Aaron raises his head towards him.

He looked terrible.

The news hits me like a truck.

"A brain tumor, but not cancer?" I manage out, my voice quiet. 

"Yes, that may explain your numerous admissions to our hospital........" He starts, but Katelyn interrupts him.

"Her previous visits are in the past, lets just focus on getting this under control". Katelyn retorts.

A young woman, about in her late twenties, with ginger hair, ran into the room. 

"Room 401 is coding Dr. Shepard!" She says, then turning to see us. 

A bandaged up me.

A teary eyed, six feet something tall Aaron. 

And a pissed off Katelyn.

"I will talk more about this with you later, but we should schedule the surgery for tomorrow, we need to get that tumor out." Then he leaves.

Aaron then turns to me, like he was trying to mesmirise every inch of my face.

As if he would never see it again.

"What are you looking at?" I said, trying to lighten the mood.

"You remind me of a potato" He says back, cracking a small smile.

"I love you" I say, my head hurting.

"I love you too" He responds.

Dr. Shepard enters the room once more, and we begin to talk, the surgery is tomorrow.

I would stay in the hospital tonight, and prepare for the surgery.

Aaron refused to go home, Katelyn went to tell everyone and Lilth will stay with Cadenza.  

As it got dark, I began to drift off.

I heard Aaron chuckle.

I then felt him climb into the bed and wrap his arms around me.

I know that he wants to protect me.

I know that it must be killing him that he can't do anything about it.
