Aphmau's POV

I can't believe Gene, I though he was my friend.

Why would he want me to break up with Aaron?

A friend would understand who makes me happy.

Aaron makes me happy.

Gene makes me angry. (sorry Genemau fans, just to make it easier, ship Aarmau)

"Hey you okay?" I heard Aaron ask.

We were sitting on the couch, he was playing with Lilth and I was staring at the TV. 

"Ya...just thinking" I turn to him and give him a small smile.

"Hows college...." I begin but Lilth distracts him.

She whams her stuffed animal at Aaron's bare chest.

Aaron smiles, as he ruffles her golden hair.

I slide onto Aaron's shoulder and he lifts his arm over me, pulling me closer.

(In the back seat of my rover.....ok jeez I'll stop.) 

I bring my achy arm, from carrying books everywhere I went, to tickle Lilth. 

She slaps at my hand loosely. 

Aaron and I laughed at Lilth's attempt at a stingy face.

He looks down on me.

I look up at him.

We both hate studying school material.

But we both love studying each others eyes.

It is in this moment,

When I forget losing Zoey,

When I forget Aaron's father,

When I forget the time that we lost together when we weren't together.

It is in this moment that I know I can get through anything,

Anything that life shoves my way.

I can shove back.

Because I know.

Aaron will be here to help me shove it back.

He was starting to lean in when something interrupted our perfect moment.

A loud noise, its origin being the doorbell, rang throughout the house. 

I smile at Aaron and give him a quick peck, then I leap off the couch.

I attempted to pat my hair down, but was unsuccessful. 

I walk over to the door, I hear faint mumbles outside.

I open the creaky door to see a young woman, must be in her late twenties. 

She looked a lot like Lilth.

"Excuse me, is Mr. Lycan here at the moment? The lady at his house said to come looking here." She gives me a small smile, while rubbing her arms to stay warm. 

"Yes, please come in, its chilly out there" I gesture her to come in, while returning her smile.

"Thank you" She says as she enters the warmth of my house. 

I close the door behind her and walk her to the living room. 

Aaron must have noticed we had company, because he put on his hoodie. 

I invite her to sit on the couch and she sits down gently and crosses her legs.

I sit down as well, Aaron was listening to our conversation, but still occupied with Lilth.

"I'm sorry just to barge in but....I'm here to talk about Lilth....." My jaw drops a bit and I turn to Lilth and Aaron.

Aaron shares my expression and Lilth is still whamming her toy against Aaron. 

"Is there something wrong?" I ask curiously.

"There is just......I'm Lilth's aunt.....Her mother was my sister.." She said

Panic rose inside me and I felt Aaron grabbed my hand.

We both knew what this meant.

"I'm here to take over custody of Lilth....I know that you may have gotten very attached to her..." She starts, but Aaron interrupts her. 

I'm speechless.

"No disrespect, but where were you when the crash happened? Why weren't you there when your sister and brother-in-law were dying? Why weren't you there for Lilth!?" 

I grabbed his hand harder and he stops, his nostrils flaming.

"That is my niece by blood....you can't just.." She starts, but this time I interrupt her.

"I want you out of my house...."I look up at her. 

Her mouth a bit open.

She stands up and dusts her coat off, giving us a grim face.

"I will see you in court then.." And with that, she escorts herself out, slamming the door behind her, letting in the cold air. 

I turn back to Aaron, who was hugging Lilth, I feel tears gain in my eyes.

Aaron's POV

I look over at Aphmau, I could tell she was going to cry.

Why does all this have to happen to us?

Why can't we just be happy?

I wrap my arm over her, pulling her into my red hoodie. 

She starts to cry into my shoulder and I can make out her muffled words.

"I can't lose her too Aaron......not another one..."

I hope that woman could hear Aphmau's cries.

Every morning, she gets up, no one putting her down.

No matter how you feel

get up

dress up

show up

and never give up.

She never gives up.

BTW that quote at the ending is the quote of the day and is not mine, none of the quotes are mine unless I say that it is. I will be putting the quotes in the story now.
