Seventy five years. I was under a coma for seventy five years, thanks to the serum though, I still look at least nineteen, because I was nineteen when I went under. When I woke up, nobody was around me, I was in a ditch, immediately I was terrified because the world that suddenly surrounded me was nothing like the world I was used to. After a year of initial shock, fear and confusion, I decided that, though I'm 94, I still am basically a teenager in appearance, so I should live like one. I ended up getting out into the adoption system, and after about a year I was adopted. My adopted folks knew nothing about who I once was, all they thought I was was a fifteen year old girl who needed to be loved and protected. But I'm actually a nineteen/ninety four year old former soldier from the 1940's who pretended to be a man to join the army. So basically my entire new life was a lie. But it was a happy lie, my new life was perfect, up until I discovered the serum had some unforeseen side effects. Fire. My dad thought my powers were the coolest thing since cars were invented, and he was determined to help me learn to completely control them. One day he was trying to help me, and there was an accident..a terrible accident, which messed my head up, a lot. It didn't help that my mom never believed that I actually had powers, so she believed I had purposely murdered dad, she tried to put me in a prison, but instead I ended up in a mental asylum.
"STAY AWAY FROM ME!" I scream at the top of my lungs, clutching the sides of my head and pressing myself as far as I can into the corner of the small room. "STAY AWAYYYYYYYYYY!" I scream, slamming my body heavily into the fiberglass wall. I can't let them get me! They can't get me! I can't die yet! I can't die I can't die I can't die I can't die I can't- "I CANT DIE YET!" I scream, and then begin to laugh hysterically, I don't know what I'm finding so funny, but I laugh anyway, almost subconsciously. As I laugh insanely while slamming my body against the wall, the room door bursts open and in rushes four heavily armored guards with guns, I immediately cease laughing and sit down cross legged on the floor, staring down at my hands quietly. "What are you screaming about?" A guard asks me firmly, I stay silent. He raises his gun towards my head. "Hey!" He pushes my head roughly with the barrel of the semi, it hurts like hell, but I stay silent, still staring at my hands. "I asked you a question, girl!" He barks, I calmly turn my head and look at him. "So you did." I say nonchalantly, big mistake. He hits me over the head with his gun, I fall to the ground, but calmly sit back up again after a moment, much to his disdain. A warm liquid drips down the side of my face, I can feel it, when it reaches the bottom of my face, I glance at the ground just as a drop of deep Crimson blood falls onto the white tile floor. "You want a lobotomy?! Like Your cell mate Jen?" He asks, smiling wickedly at me, I stare at the wall behind the guards and reply. "I was screaming because I saw a bug." I lie, being as convincing as I can. I look up at the guard and the room is silent for a minute, everyone suspended in the quiet air, and then, I scream as loudly as I can, causing the guards to jump in surprise, I start laughing again, hysterically, so the guard with whom I've been conversing hits me over the head with the gun again, this time knocking me out. What a dick. I'm only crazy, that's no reason to hit me so much.
