A/N: So I watched and read Me Before You, including the Sequel and I'm just. . .ugh! The feels, guys!

So after all that, I came up with an idea. You know the bit when he says he'll be walking by her side at the end and all? I legit imagined his happy carefree form walking beside her and all, and it gave me an idea. Hope y'all like it!

Afterlife
He sat across from her at the cafe he suggested for her in Paris, watching her read his letter. He watched as she tried to hold her tears in, sniffing every once in a while.
He doesn't regret what he did; he couldn't live like that for the rest of his life. He couldn't hold her down in her life because of him being in a wheelchair. She had so much to live for - looking after a quadriplegic was not one of them. But he couldn't help but feel a small twinge of regret, since he really did love her. He loved the bright Louisa Clark with her bright fashion.
Just like he promised in his letter, he walked beside her; wherever she went, he followed.  He followed her from the cafe Marquis, to L'Artisan Parfumeur where she was going to try the perfume he suggested for her; Papillons Extrême - whatever it was called. He smelt the perfume alongside with her, and nodded with satisfaction. That was the one that reminded him of her.
He watched her order the perfume, and then followed her outside of the shop and deeper into Paris. Like he promised.

***

Eighteen months later. . .
To say, he was a bit disappointed in her for breaking her promise. She promised him that she would live, just like he used to do. But what was she doing? Working at an airport bar, cleaning the toilets, and living in an apartment that was almost empty. Drinking wine and having small snacks, every once in a while going up on the rooftop. What happened to living, doing crazy things? What happened to the old Lou? What happened to the bright coloured, bubbly Lou? Now she wore jeans and t-shirts, and wasn't bright. Was it all his fault? Did he turn her into that?
Following her to the rooftop, he watched her drunk form stand on the ledge of the rooftop, getting worried for her. He watched her yell up to the sky, cursing him for leaving her, for turning her into this.
"I'm sorry, Lou." he whispered just when a young girl surprised Lou, making her fall off the building. "Louisa!"

He sat beside her on the hospital bed, watching her trying to communicate with her parents. Was this how she felt when she sat beside his form on the hospital bed? He realised how horrible it felt and felt sorry again for her and his family having to go through it with him.
He knew what was happening in her family; they were disappointed in her for allowing him to die - watch him die. And now here they were, her parents, close to crying because they thought they almost lost their daughter. But that wasn't all. He knew what they were thinking. They were thinking she jumped off the building. They thought she did it on purpose because of him.
"Oh Louisa," he shook his head, placing his hand on her cheek gently even though she couldn't feel his touch, "what are you doing?"

***

He sat beside her in shock, staring at the sixteen-year-old girl in front of him. His daughter? She was his daughter? How come he didn't know about her? Who was the mother? Does his parents know?
Tanya Miller. That name rang a bell. People thought they were going to get together after college. How wrong they were. He felt guilty for the way he treated the women back then. Still did.
He observed his daughter -Lily- carefully. Yep, she did look a bit like him. No doubt that that was his daughter. And he was appalled at what she did. Smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol? What else does she do, steal? Does drugs? That couldn't be his daughter, surely.
"Oh, what have I left you with, Clark?" he whispered, watching as she tried to wrap her mind around it all like him. "I am so sorry for leaving you in this situation. But I know you, you can solve this. I believe in you, Clark."
