Their Saviour
"Merlin, will you please hurry up?"
   "I'm trying!"
"Well try harder, it's almost nightfall!"
"Well it's kind of hard to run when I am carrying a dead buck that is very heavy."
   "Shh! They might hear us!"
   "But -"
"Get down!" Arthur abruptly turned around, making Merlin bump into him. "You imbecile!" Arthur hissed. When he heard the bandits approaching them, Arthur quickly grabbed Merlin and threw him to a broken-down tree, sitting beside him to hide from them. The bandits ran to where Merlin and Arthur were previously standing, looking around.
"Where did they go!" the leader of the bandits yelled.
"I don't know!" someone else said.
"Well find them!" the leader roared. "Didn't you see they held riches with them?"
"Find them!" someone said. Arthur cursed quietly, quickly peeking above the fallen tree.
"They're going to find us soon!" Arthur whispered. "Listen, this is what we are going to do. When they come near us, we are going to go out and fight - well, I'm going to fight. You might just die trying."
"Gee, thanks for the compliment." Merlin whispered to him sarcastically.
"Look, just get ready." Arthur said, slowly drawing out his sword. When the bandits were near them, Arthur hopped out of his hiding spot and immediately stabbed one of the bandits in the abdomen. Merlin quickly grabbed a long stick and held a sword fight with one of the bandits, Arthur fighting three at the same time.
They held quite a fight, but soon they were outnumbered, surrounded by the bandits. "Well look at what we have here!" the leader grinned. "Why it's the Prince of Camelot and his servant!"
"I demand you all to stand down, and in return you all may leave in peace." Arthur demanded with authority surging through his voice. The bandits simply laughed in response, moving closer to them with their weapons.
"Not going to happen." the leader shook his head. "Here is what you're going to do. You're going to give us all the riches you have on ya. Do it, or else you won't be making it to Camelot."
Arthur glared at them all in thought. "Arthur, we have no chance against them." Merlin whispered to him, wishing he could just use his magic. "We have to do as he says if we want to live."
"Listen to your servant, My Lord." the leader said, sarcasm laced in his voice when he said 'My Lord'.
"Can I have your word that you will leave us alone." Arthur asked them warily.
"You have my word." the leader said, bowing to him mockingly. Arthur nodded to Merlin.
"Right. Give the man our riches." Arthur commanded quietly. Merlin slowly started to gather all the money they had, even giving them the dead buck.
The bandit chuckled at the gold and food, getting some of his men to take them away. "Good!" he grinned. He then turned to the rest of the bandits. "Kill them." he ordered. They started to advance towards them.
"You gave us your word!" Merlin protested, lifting his stick up again.
"Yes, I did." the leader snickered. "But they didn't."
The bandits yelled out their cries, running towards the two, only to be sent back by an invisible force. "Onweg!" a voice had shouted.
Merlin and Arthur turned around to see a woman behind them, hand out in front of her towards the bandits. They saw just in time to see her eyes fade from gold to an emerald green. "A sorceress!" Arthur gasped, Merlin having a similar look of shock on his face like Arthur.
The woman paid no mind to them and continued throwing magic at the bandits. The woman had created a line between them and the bandits with fire, causing them to run away in fright. When they were no longer in sight, the woman took the fire out. She then turned to Merlin and Arthur, who were still gaping at her.
The woman gave them a small smile. "You are welcome." she said.
