The Other Hybrid
They stood on the opposite side of the Volturi, waiting for their reply. They tried all they could to prove Renesme's existence - they even had to watch as Irina died right before their eyes.
Their dead hearts sunk when Aro and his two brothers started saying their farewell to their mates. It was official; they were going to fight. Aro and the rest of the Volturi were afraid of little Nessie.
Garret glanced down to the hybrid that caused trouble, feeling sorry for her family. There was a high chance that her parents wouldn't make it out alive.
But then the impossible happened.

Alice came with Jasper.

Everyone started whispering her name and her mate's in shock, wondering why they were here. Didn't they run away for a reason?
Garret sniffed, sensing unknown scents nearby from where Alice and Jasper came from. Who were they? Why were they hiding?
His questions were answered when three people emerged from the forest; one male and two females - one of them catching Garret's attention. She looked a lot like the male, but had longer black hair, and a more feminine look on her face that looked almost like the other woman. He could hear her heart thumping erratically like the male's and Renesme's.

They were hybrids.

He watched them explain their situation to the Volturi; the male was twin with the female, both of them surviving off blood and human food. They were over two hundred years old. And just like that, the case was closed.

Garret approached the young woman who was with Renesme, showing the young girl a small bird. Instead of like the other animals that run away from them, the bird seemed to love being in the woman's hands.
"How are you doing that?" Garret asked her, revealing himself to them. "Usually the animals run away from the prey."
"It is my talent." she said softly, her voice as gentle as the wind. "I communicate with animals."
"What, like Snow White?" She gave a blank look in reply. "Right, raised in the wild and all. . ." Garret held a hand out to her. "The name's Garret. What's yours, may I ask?"
"Endowyn." she slowly grabbed his hand, yelping in surprise when he lifted her hand to his lips, placing a chaste kiss to it.
"Very nice to meet you, Endowyn."
"Uncle Garret," Renesme spoke up, "why don't you show her around?" Garret sent a small smile to her.
"What a splendid idea, little one."

She looked around in curiosity, the field of flowers intriguing her. Sure she sees more amazing nature, but still, the field of flowers blooming around made her smile.
Garret stood in the shadows, while she stood in the sunlight; her skin shining brightly against the sun. He found her very beautiful.
"Why are you hiding in the shadows?" she called out to him, still observing the scenery. Garret frowned at her question.
"I'm not hiding."
"You're in the shadows." she pointed out. "You're hiding." She held a hand out to him. "Come on, embrace yourself. Come join me." And without hesitation, he came to her, his hand clasping her own. A warm feeling erupted inside of him; something he had never felt before. It was a good feeling, though. And only she gave it to him.
"You love nature a lot." Garret pointed out lamely. She just nodded in reply.
"I was raised with nature alongside my twin." she explained. "Nature is a beautiful thing. A beautiful thing that is being taken away by the humans for more pollution."
"Yes, the world is going down because of them." Garret agreed. "You're from the Amazon, yes?"
"Yes." she nodded.
"Huh," he nodded, "haven't been to the forests yet. I might soon, actually." Endowyn stood in front of him, hands clasped in his, her bright brown eyes gleaming against the sun.
"Come with me then. Let me show you my home."
"Of course." Garret smiled, placing a chaste kiss to her cheek.

One year later. . .
Garret sat with his wife's brother in the forest, biting at his nails nervously. Just in the treehouse above them was Endowyn in the middle of giving birth to their first child with Carlisle and her aunt. With Endowyn being a hybrid, she was also able to have a child and so she did with Garret, her husband. It was tradition for the father-to-be to wait outside with the others.
So, Garret sat with his brother-in-law, Edward, Emmett, Jasper, Jacob - and basically the rest of the Cullen clan. They had came to congratulate them and for Carlisle to come and assist them during the labour.
Garret looked up from the ground with his eyebrows raised in shock, the sound of a baby crying breaking the silence apart from nature around them. He heard the aunt murmur the gender of the baby in their native language, making him smile proudly. He had time during the year to know the language.
"It's a boy." he translated for everyone. Congratulations was shared around from them.
"Congrats, man." Emmett told him with a smile.
"Go up there," Bella said to him with a smile, "we'll give your family some privacy."
Sending a nod to them, he took a couple of steps before easily jumping up into the air, latching on to the tree that held their home. He climbed up easily, hopping onto the porch where Carlisle was making his way out.
"Congratulations," Carlisle told him with a smile, "I'll be back soon to check on your son."
"Thank you, my friend." Garret told him gratefully.
"Anything for you. I mean, you risked your life for mine a year ago." After one last goodbye, Carlisle jumped down the treehouse, reuniting with his family.
Garret approached his and Endowyn's room slowly, hearing the happy murmur of the ladies, and the small baby cries from the baby itself.
Garret knocked on the door lightly, gaining their attention. "Garret," Endowyn smiled tiredly, "come here and meet your son."
Garret came to her side immediately and peered down at the small infant in her arms. The baby's skin was pale like his father's, already getting black hair like his mother. When Garret placed a finger in his son's hand, the baby stopped crying and opened his eyes to show brown orbs staring at them.
"He's beautiful." Garret breathed out, staring down at his son in awe. "We made this. We did it."
"We did." Endowyn rested her head on his shoulder gently with a tired smile. Her aunt started scolding them in the native tongue, telling them that Endowyn and the baby needs sleep.
Garret held their son in his arms while helping his in-law make Endowyn comfortable in her bed, afterwards giving his wife the child. Garret then laid down beside them.
"I love you." Garret whispered to her. Endowyn smiled tiredly at his declaration.
"I love you too." The couple were then encased with love and silence, their son in between them just the way it was supposed to be.
