"Mario, I'm home!" Nora shouted as she entered their shared house. She quickly put her jacket and her shoes off before walking into the living room, where her boyfriend was sitting on the couch with his arms crossed in front of his chest, not looking at her. "Hey, Mario." She said and walked towards him, but he didn't relpy and kept on looking at the wall in front of him. "What's wrong?" Nora asked, noticing how hard he was trying not look at her. Finally, he turned his attention to her and quickly stood up.
"What's wrong? You are seriously asking me what's wrong?" He said, slightly raising his voice. "Yes, I am. You're acting strange, Mario." She stated and shrugged her shoulders. "Why did you do this?" He suddenly questioned, making her back away slightly. "What do you mean?" She replied and raised her eyebrows in confusion. "Don't act so innocent, Nora. I've seen the pictures." He stated and glared at her, but she still didn't have an idea what he was talking about.
"You're cheating on me." He said, sounding angry at first, but his voice broke at the end. "I trusted you, I gave you everything..." He added, but she cut him off. "What are you even talking about? I'm not cheating on you!" She replied, raising her voice, too. "Don't lie to me! You are always flirting with other guys." Mario said, making his girlfriend's eyes go wide. "I have never flirted with anyone else! You need to calm down and stop being so damn jealous." She stated and crossed her arms in front of her chest. "How can I not be jealous when my own girlfriend is cheating on me?" He asked, making his girlfriend shake her head. "That's it, I'm leaving." She said and took her back.
"You can call me when you're normal again." She mumbled and quickly walked out of the house. "Scheiße!" Mario shouted and sat down on the couch again, putting his head in his hands. "I'm such an idiot." He mumbled and sighed deeply, while he took  out his phone and tried to call her, but she didn't pick up. He just sat on the couch in silence for a while, hoping she would come back. "I need to apologize." He whispered quietly to himself after a while before standing up and taking his car-keys. He was about to leave the house, when his phone started to ring. He quickly accepted the call and pressed the phone to his ear. "Nora?" He immediately asked, but it wasn't her. "Mario? It's me Y/D/N, Nora's father." He said and Mario could hear the sadness in his voice, making him start to panic. "Is she okay? Did something happen?" He quickly asked, trying to stay calm. "She has been in a car crash, Mario, she is in the hospital now."

Mario felt a few tears running down his cheeks as the memories from three days ago came to his mind again. "It's all my fault." He whispered, tightly holding Nora's hand in his. "I'm so sorry, love." He sobbed as he softly placed his hand on her cheek. "I should have never accused you of such things, I know that you would never cheat on me." The German stated and wiped a few of his tears away. "I'm so sorry." He repeated and bit his lip. "You have to wake up again, Nora." He said after a while of silence. "Please wake up again. You know that I can't live without, especially not since it's my fault you're in a coma now. I will never forgive myself, ever, but I'm begging for you to open you're eyes again, to smile again and to tell me what an idiot I am again." He continued, his voice slightly breaking at the end.
"Please, love. Please don't leave me alone." Mario said again and softly kissed her cheek, while he was still holding her hand in his. "You're Mr. Gomez, right?" Someone suddenly asked, making Mario spin around to see a doctor standing in front of him. "I'm Doctor Schäfer." He continued after Mario nodded. "When will she wake up again?" Mario asked as the doctor stood beside Nora's bed. "Mr. Gomez..." The doctor said and Mario could hear in his voice that he was going to tell him something bad, something very, very bad. "There's only a very, very small chance that she will ever wake up again." The doctor said, breaking Mario's heart into a million of pieces, while countless tears were streaming down his cheeks.
"I'm very sorry." The doctor said and patted the footballer's shoulder before leaving the room again. "You can't do this to me, Nora! Please, please wake up again. Please." Mario said and placed a soft kiss on her hand. "Please." He repeated and put a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Please." He said again and softly placed his lips on top of hers. "I love you so, so, so, so much, Nora." He whispered and closed his eyes, while tears were still running down his cheeks, but suddenly he heard something. He opened his eyes again and saw that his girlfriend's eyes were open. "I love you, too, Mario." She whispered.
Because miracles still happen.
