I was in my room eating the burger and fries we picked up before we made it back to the manor. I ate alone for I didn't want to hear any more of Wanda and Beck's questions.
I sat in my bed with my food as I dialed Charlie's number.
" Toni?"
" Isn't that what the caller ID said?" I snapped.
" No, because I got a new phone"
" What happened to the last one?"
" Andrea and Jackie pushed me in the pool"
" That must've been funny," I said with a chuckle as I imagined the scene.
" Ha haha. So, how is it in London? Your best friend has missed you"
" Aww, tell Andrea I miss her too"
" I meant me"
" I miss you too, Charlie. I just wish I would've been home sooner. The last couple of days have been a mess" I confessed.
" How so?" He asks intrigued.
" Well..."
" What happened?"
" What I'm about to tell you stays hush hush okay? I don't want your wife-
" Also known as your sister" Charlie interrupted.
" Don't interrupt me. Like I said before, I don't want your wife or my mother to hear about this."
" I promise"
" Fine"
" So are you gonna tell me?" He asked after a moment of silence.
" I just needed a moment to get myself together"
" Toni, how bad could it be?" He asked with a chuckle.
" Well, we almost kissed" I whispered into the phone.
" You what?"
" Almost kissed," I said a bit louder.
" What?"
" You heard me"
" No, I didn't"
" I said... we almost kissed"
" What?!?"
" Now I know you heard me this time" I declared with sass.
" I know, I'm just shocked that you let that happen"
" I was shocked myself. I felt so...defenseless and I...I let loose"
"Man, you're losing your touch"
" I know. Hopefully Barbie the bitch will get me pissed off tomorrow or something"
