9. No chance of Speaking. Huh.

Start from the beginning

I nodded, wishing the tears would stop so I could find my way to the stairs of our moldy basement.  I wiped my eyes, running up the steps and into my room.'

I started crying from the memory I had tried so hard to forget.  Scratch that, I started bawling.

"Aw, Angel, it'll be okay. I won't let anything happen to you from now on.  I promise," Andy claimed.

"S-ing,"

"What was that, sweetie?"

"Sing,"

"Okay... what song then?"  He asked.

"The Void,"

He hesitated, but after a few seconds he began to sing, "This ship has crashed,

We burn down the past,

Like ghost-drifted ash,

Your photograph

Is all that will last

There's no turning back

Now I'm all alone

The future unknown

Got nowhere to go

But I'll survive, the loneliest nights

Won't give up the fight

Through the void, through the void, through the endless void

I'll march on and on and on and on without you

Hear the voice, hear the voice, of the hearts destroyed

I'll march on and on and on and on without you

And I'll keep singing our song, 'till tomorrow

The emptiness

It kills like a kiss

The violent abyss

Farewell again

We've come to an end

I'll miss you my friend

Carry on, carry on

Through the void, through the void, through the endless void

I'll march on and on and on and on without you

Hear the voice, hear the voice, of the hearts destroyed

I'll march on and on and on and on without you

And I'll keep singing our song, 'till tomorrow

How can I carry on, carry on without you?

Carry on

We fail, we fall

But just keep walking through it all

Got to face another day

You're here, you're gone

But I had to move along

'Till the darkness starts to fade

We fail, we fall

Just keep walking through it all

Got to face another day

Won't give up the fight

Through the void, through the void, through the endless void

I'll march on and on and on and on without you

Hear the voice, hear the voice, of the hearts destroyed

I'll march on and on and on and on without you

And I'll keep singing our song, 'till tomorrow," he softly sang, coming to an end.

There was a knock on the door followed by Ashley's muffled voice, "Can I enter?"

"No, now f*ck off," Andy joked.

"Okay, thanks," Ash said as he entered the room.  "What's happenin' my peeps?" he asked in some crappy accent.

"Well, if you must know,  I was sitting with my daughter when some middle aged man with a terrible accent entered the room.  He then sat down and decided to play twenty questions while drinking caffeine from a cup," Andy answered.  Sarcastically I must add.

"Rad!" Ashley exclaimed.

"Ashley, do me a favor and shut the f*ck up."

"..."

"Give m-me the coffee and n-no one get-s hurt," I stuttered.  Every time I spoke, it felt like a part of my throat was ripped out.  I guess that's what seven years of silence can do to ya.  Ashley looked at me and happily handed over the coffee, clearly glad I was able to speak at all.

"Anything for you, Gee," he said with a wink.  Obviously he's messing around, and if you can't figure out why it would be wrong if he wasn't, I'll give you a hint.  We have a slight difference in age.  Not major, just seventeen years.
