Picture on the side is of Joseph Gordon Levitt :D
Interviewing Emilita
1. How are you?
I'm fine, thank you. I'm actually having quite a great day with loads of activity on my story. That always keeps me smiling.
2. When and how did you join wattpad?
July 10th 2012. I came across a Tweet that mentioned Wattpad as a tool to get youngsters to the writing pads and it got me curious. The first story I saw when I browsed through was Fire Flower by aprocne. She had just started it and I haven't missed a chapter since!
3. What is your motivation for writing?
I believe I have a vivid imagination and at some point, I just needed to get all my ideas out of my head and into something tangible that others will, hopefully, enjoy. I also love reading and English as a language (yes, it's not my mother tongue), so it is the perfect way to spend an afternoon.
4. What is the hardest thing about writing?
Accepting your work, however good, will never be everyone's cup of tea. I know, it sounds so common sense, but once you write, the story becomes your baby and you want everyone to like it just as much as you do. So it is hard to watch this happen, even if you write just to let your thoughts out.
5. Which person living or dead would you like to meet and why?
Whoever made Modern Family, the TV show! Firstly, to shake his/her hand a thousand times. How genius do you have to be to come up with the concept. I love it. Also, I hear it was based on a pitch from viewers or something like that, so I'd love to pitch my book ideas for this person. How awesome would it be to even just here what they think of my ideas?
6. Who is your celebrity crush?
Joseph Gordon Levitt, especially in 500 Days of Summer and Inception. I think I had dreams of him after watching Inception. But I don't fancy his newest look...
7. Have you ever lost something important?
Sure. I've been a student. We're sometimes crazy distracted or drunk. I had my phone stolen or lost one night, probably stolen. The moral is: Keep your peepers on your stuff!
8. Favorite childhood memory?
The summer when I in was sixth grade. It was around the time everyone got PC's, but we weren't addicted to them yet. We'd just gather (around 30 kids where I lived) and play games outside all afternoon and evening. Boys against the girls, always, so the stakes were high!
9. Do you plan any musical instruments?
No. My creativity has always been confined to writing and acting. Never tried playing an instrument apart from attempting really short tunes on the piano. Even they didn't work out, Haha.
10. Do you play any sports?
I like badminton; it's a good way to relax. When I was younger, I used to play dodge ball all the time.
11. Favorite food?
I lived in Italy for a year, so needless to say I am in love with Italian food. If I have to specify, I'd say ravioli with loads of Parmesan cheese and pizza with bresaola and ruccola were my absolute favorites.
13. Favorite video game?
I didn't play many video or computer games growing up, but I have to say I loved Super Mario *boing-boing*. Oldie but goodie!
14. Do you like pickles?
As a rule, no, but here in Europe you can sometimes find the really small and pretty sour ones which aren't yucky like the rest, so I eat those.
15. What do you like to do for fun?
Barbeque or just gather my friends for dinner. Basically gathering friends and food cannot go wrong.
16. Favorite ice-cream flavor?
Oh that is too difficult to say again due to having lived in Italy, where the regular shop has 20 normal flavors and 20 weird ones. If I have to narrow it down, I'd say peach, yogurt and pistachio.
17. Do you have any special/hidden talents?
I'm good with reading maps and getting around a new city with just the map. I always thought that was normal but traveling with loads of different people, I got to see how confused many of them got when using a map.
So, now, I have multiple vacation pictures, where I walk in front of the others with a map wide-open.
18. If you were a super hero, what powers would you have?
I think I would be like one of the Tomorrow people, if you watch it. So telepathy, teleportation, and telekinesis. That gives you quite a lot work with! My favorite would be teleportation.
19. Name one thing you totally suck at.
Drawing. Drawing. Drawing. Even the simplest things turn out horrific and I am not exaggerating. I keep drawing people using 5 straight lines and a circle for the head, Haha.
