A small tin pot filled a little over half-way with water was placed roughly on a gas top stove. The water in the pot did nothing but sit still except for a light ripple, almost like a wave, that grazed over the surface. It sat there undisturbed by touch but felt the warmth from the flame coming underneath it.

With time being a concept not understood by the pot it hadn't a clue when they human touch would come once again. It bothered the pot and the water inside making it feel restless, and as the flame rose and became hotter, the water started to boil and bubble. The new sensation did nothing to soothe but instead made the water want to boil more.

As the flame continued to grow, the human interacted more with the pot and water making them both want to bubble more. They wanted the bubbles to reach the human; to hurt the human.

And so when the human left them unattended and came back too late, the water had bubbled over and burned the skin of the human, finally getting back by releasing it's feelings.

But even if the pot and water aren't alive with emotions such as these, every person feels this way again and again throughout their life caused by the touch of another human being.
